Is it worth it?

For many yes it is. For our family- nope. Think it is way overrated and nothing special. The soup and bread are tasty but ........

I also think it is very over rated. It was good. But not a must do. We have better steak houses in Chicago. You definetly need an ADR.

It is an absolute must for my DS11. He loves the cheddar cheese soup. I have made it at home and it is good, but there is just something about the atmosphere there. I had wanted to maybe try lunch for our next trip as we have always gone for dinner, but DS and I both love the mushroom filet and it is not on the lunch menu.

We ate there last February on the DDP. With reservations, we had to wait outside about 45 minutes (these were 7:30 p.m. ressies). We finally got crammed into a tiny table (4 of us) where we could barely pull our chairs out enough to sit down. Perhaps b/c we were on DDP, our waitress slapped down some breadsticks and NEVER returned. We would have liked a refill. Ditto for drink refills — they never happened. We ended up being served by 4 different people, none of whom could have cared less about us. Every time something was brought to our table, it was by a different person that we never saw again. Their utter disdain was palpable. We did ask one of the "servers" for more breadsticks. They, of course, never came. My filet was terribly undercooked for my tastes (raw in the middle), but since no one ever came back to the table I just ate the outer (actually cooked) parts. If we hadn't been on the DDP, I would have raised absolute hell with a manager. But it was late, we were tired, and we wanted to go home. It was a tremendous disappointment. Perhaps it was a bad night, but I would never go back and I would never, ever pay OOP for it. I've had better meals at Outback Steakhouse at the mall.

Sounds awful! Guess every restuarant can have an awful day! I had a very similar experience in YS (only 1 server mind) and I did eventually go back and had a fantastic experience so I guess it was an off day. You should have still complained as it wasn't fair on you and quite frankly the people serving you clearly shouldn't have been so off with you!
