Is it Worth It To Stay Onsite or Partner Hotel for Extra HR at WWOHP

I've been considering staying either on-site or at one of the partner hotels strictly for the purpose of being able to get into Harry Potter an hour early. I heard somewhere that Universal may be distributing passes to get into Harry Potter and they will be limited, so you may not be able to get in at all as an outside guest. Is this accurate?

I'd really rather not pay the ridiculously high prices to stay at one of the Universal hotels (although they do seem very nice), and their partner hotels have yet to wow me.

Any suggestions?

PS - We'll be visiting the first weekend in April.

If your focus is WWoHP then it may be worth it. Be warned. If you stay onsite you may never want to visit without unlimited express to most rides again.

So worth it! Think about it this way - when you look back on this trip wouldn't you have rather spend a little extra money to get the opportunity to have WWOHP almost all to yourself? And let's not forget about FOTL passes. Your kids will never forget feeling that they can breeze through the lines and get in HP early and really have FUN on your trip.
We just got back and we stayed onsite so I am probably a little bias. Hope whatever you choose, you have a great time!:goodvibes
