booked up already? I have a msg sent to our wonderful person at Magical Journeys to find out. I am sure that the ones that are going from 12-4 - 12-10-04 might want to know this so we can all justify the crowds. I hope that the crowds are low this time. Anyone have any thoughts?

I don't want to hear it either....but I am just reading on here and some people are saying that it is already booked up. But it maybe just WL or the delux resorts that are booked up. Regardless, we made it through the week of Easter this past year as our first time, we will make it this time.

Let's see...Disney + December +Christmas Decorations+ plus our priority seatings +/- crowds = great time.

I agree would not want to be anywhere else with or with out the crowds!

But lets hope there are not TOO many people!

From what I understand (and we'll be down there 12/5-11), this is a slow time of year, but very popular with those who are more, shall we say, "into" Disney. So it's reasonable to assume that the on-site resorts fill up fast, but that the off-site ones don't.

IMHO - YMMV

Hate to burst the bubble, but I think everything IS booked solid on site. Mousefest is being held 12/9-12/13...lots of folks, website hosts, guidebook authors, many planned events. Haven't tried to find out how many will be in attendance; not sure I want to know. This will probably be the "end" of WDW trips for us. DH doesn't "get" WDW, but seemed to have a good time on last trip. I've been selling this one as a Christmas trip without the crowdsbut he's not happy about going (stay home, stay home, I'll eat the $126 airfare), and it doesn't seem as if low crowds are going to happen...sigh...not too excited now!

Disney is giving out tickets and good onsite rates to those organizations that aided with the hurricane. They must use them by Dec 20th. That and the rescheduled hurricane trips should make the time period Oct 14 - Dec 20 more crowded than usual.

When we were originally booking for our December trip, we wanted to go 12/5-12/10 but . . . found that we couldn't get the type of room we wanted, couldn't get the PS we wanted, etc. so we switched our dates to 12/12-12/17 and found that we could get the room we wanted at the rate we wanted and could eat w/a PS at the times we wanted. There just seemed to be SOOO much going on during our first choice dates--between Mousefest, Pop Warner and something else (can't remember what now)-- that we decided that we would just push our time out a week.

Still, with all of that going on during your times, it should still be quieter than the summer months.

The website shows availability for the Dec 4 - 10 dates at the BC and the BCV, CSR, CBR, POP and ASsports at a minimum. We went for Jersey Week last year, which was also the Festival of the Masters, Food and Wine, and Super Soap Weekend.
The onsite resorts were reportedly 85 to 95 percent sold, but the parks were fine. All rides were walk ons in the AM and with fast past we never waited more then 20 mins for anything the entire time. Just because the onsite resorts are busy, doesn't mean the parks will be swamped.

I didn't realize that there was so much going on at the World during the first week of December.:earseek: I hope it's not too crowded. I told my DH's family that this was one of the least busy times to go to WDW.

offsite properties don't seem unusually full during that time period. lots of deals around.

We are going Dec. 5th-11th 6and all this talk about how crowded it might be is making me a nervous wreck. :(

I booked our rooms with no problem, but did have a little trouble getting PS's, but I didn't call until last Monday and we are a larger party so I chalked it up to that.

It seems like every board is talking about large crowds for this week though. I convinced my brother and sister it would be worth taking the kids out of school because it was such a slow time of year. If it's as crowded as everyone seems to think it's going to be, they are going to kill me!

I wish I'd known about Pop Warner before I booked! We would have went the week after!

:( We just decided we're going to deal with busses instead of get a rental car.

Please don't say it will be really crowded. :(

Hmmmmmmmmmmm as soon as I get the email I will post it here. But who knows what the crowds will be. I don't think that the parks will be swamped, just the hotels. Does that make any sense?

I totally agree with Shelly Baxter. I went to the Disneyworld website and they are showing lots of availability at the resorts, albeit not at a discount. Quit freaking me out people. :teeth: (said in a very playful tone, lol)

Don't worry everyone! Remember that Disney on-site resorts are also popular for conventions, conferences, etc. Plus, the crowd levels at the parks are much more dependent on off-site visitors. The "general public" is what turns an uncrowded day into chaos!

Everyone take a deep breath and remember that we are going to WDW! Everything will work out fine!

I went last year during mousefest, pop warner and I think a couple of conventions were there too. Also the democratic party had a meeting at CSR at the same time. The parks were not crowded.

I saw groups of teens/tweens from pop warner later in the day at all parks and groups of convention goers each night at EPCOT for special viewings of Illuminations but they didn't effect my touring.

I don't think there is anything to worry about. I am going again this year.

I agree.....look at the whole picture:

1) Schools are in session
2) Schools are in session
and
3) Schools are in session!!

What are the most crowded weeks/months? When school is out. Don't panic. DW parks can disperse even a quarter of a million vistors very nicely on any given day!

Have a great trip and we'll all smile about it after NY....you know, when the reeeeeeaaaal crowds hit!!

And leebee.....you gotta strike some kind of deal with DH! Learn about football, play golf, go hunting, something that will make him feel guilty about not having fun at DW!!! Keep smiling and have a great time!

8 days and counting!pirate: ::MinnieMo :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Wow the last 3 posts might have made our day. It will just be nice if it can all be our wish.
