Sorry to hijack the thread with such an OT post, but although we don't really know each other Elin and I share quite a bond with her being a piano teacher and me having spent so long in an industry dedicated to her profession I sort of get out of hand! I really did LOVE  most of my tenure at Alfred, it was only the last year or two that soured the relationship, and even then it was still bittersweet. :grouphug:

Allison, no worries on going OT here -- remember, that is why we are "Lite"!! :rotfl:

As we J's & K's have gotten to know each other over the years, there are many things (some of which have nothing to do with WDW or AKL!!) that we discover about each other which gives new meaning to:

It's A Small World after all!! :rotfl:

...exactly.

Jen, sorry to hear about all of this, but glad that you were able to rent out some of your points.

Thanks, Brandi...Yeah, I have a friend that rents points whenever she can so it's a lot better to know a friend is enjoying the points:goodvibes And it's easier than worrying about trying to rent to a stranger.

I'm so sorry. I do hope a miracle happens and you'll be able to go down.

Thanks, hey who knows? Stranger things have happened...I just have to accept it may be a long time before I get there again.

so sorry to hear about this, but sometimes we have to keep our priorities in line. Vacation is nice, but there's always that slap in the face that other things are unfortunately more important. Hope things get better soon.

You are totally correct...But thinking about priorities is even more depressing than thinking of no WDW:laughing:
No really, I am TRYING to keep a positive spin on it, look how much we'll be able to appreciate WDW when we do get back!:yay:

...I loved working with Dennis Alexander, Gayle Kowalchyk, Martha Mier and others, I met Willard Palmer and Maurice Hinson before they died, plus some of the wonderful band composers.

If you ever received invitations to a piano clinic in the 1990's, I probably had a hand in sending that to you. I managed the mailing list and worked with all the piano, band, orchestra, guitar, etc people to send out direct mailings. Anything from 1992 about 2001 that was mailed from Alfred, I picked the names.

Well, then we knew each other in a "former life!" :rotfl: I have attended many piano clinics that you worked with. Catherine Rollin, Dennis Alexander, Martha Mier, and others. Again, I say... small world, Alison!

I can understand your need to get away from a toxic change in employment atmosphere. I have done that once, and have seen both my husband and older daughter deal with the same situation. Unfortunately it spills over into one's everyday life and that is NOT good. Glad you have found a happy place to be in yours!

I also don't think any of the Js and Ks will object to our small discussion. They love us! :rotfl:

Good morning, Jamborinis and Kidanites! :sunny:

I did two updates this morning from well trusted sites (adobe flash and music notes dot com) and got the blue screen of death! :scared1: Did a diagnostic and everything seems to be OK, but I did not need to have to take the time to do that today!

My phone did an automatic update last night too. I hope it doesn't crash!!

Good Morning Everybody!

Elin I'm sorry about the computer troubles, it is never good when that blue screen of death makes an appearance, it just makes my stomach sink!

Elin, I did the Adobe Flash update this morning and was so relieved when everything worked!!! :rotfl:

I've had the death screen in the past and it's amazing how it can mess up a perfectly good day! :headache:

Glad all is well!

:wave2:

Hi from Japan, hope everyone is having a good day. It is so funny being a day ahead of everyone we know.

I gotta figure out how to do a hidden Mickey cake. DS asked for one for his b-day and he is only 5:banana:. I have fully indoctrinated him:rolleyes1

I find especially in music that it is an even smaller world. A lot of times, I'll meet someone who played in a band with someone I knew or we have mutual friends. One time I went with my parents to see the San Jose Symphony and my old roomate was th first flute player!

I try not to do the updates as it always does something terrible to my computer!

It happened again this morning. So, I uninstalled the two newer updates and we will see what happens as the day goes on. I never buy additional warranty coverage. Never. BUT... we lost the last PC to a power surge that blew through a protector that was slightly out of date. So... when they offered me something for 2 years for $99 I took it. It is good through next May, so if it continues to happen they will be out here in a heartbeat!

Alison - I saw your update. I am in training in another city and only have my phone... I can't make the change from here but will when i get back.

Morning everyone... missed you all yesterday.

Hope you have a good day and I will be back tomorrow.

Nothing more frustrating than when these machines-which-we-can-no-longer-live-without (our lifelines!) don't cooperate. :headache: I absolutely refuse to get on the phone and try to have them remotely do the fix -- I learned that lesson the hard way.

That was probably $99 well spent - especially if they'll come to you! :thumbsup2

A Willie Nelson song comes to mind: "On the road again......." :rockband:
