Can't get caught up:sad2:

Well, it's official, I've rented 108 of my DVC points out to a friend:sad1: I am so happy to be able to do that for them, but so sad for me..They are doing 8 nights in a DVC studio @ AKLV Jambo.

We still have plenty of points left over after that and we have 4 nights already pre paid for Beauty at Fenway Bark, so we MAY, if a miracle happens, go for a 4 night resort only trip..No parks, no TS places..I already have enough air miles that would be $70 each way for me..Scott has only a few miles and will lose what he does have if he doesnt travel by 10/12.
We were supposed to be renting out all our '12 points so we could go visit a friend in Germany, but we cant afford that either...I think I may end up renting the rest of my '12 points out too:sad1: If I'm worried about a roof over our heads, I cant be worried about vacations.:sad1:

Jen, sorry to hear about all of this, but glad that you were able to rent out some of your points.

I realize that check in is not until 4pm, but are there places where we could change clothes if we need to? We have a 6pm ADR at 1900 Park Fare. Thanks

Thanks for the input everyone! I think we will more than likely go with AKL and hope for an upgrade at check-in. I know that I have to make a decsion soon and concentrate on ADRs very soon. We were just at WDW in late August, so we want this to be a more "relaxed" trip. I can't wait to start making dfinite plans. You can't imagine how excited I am that we will be visiting WDW twice in one year!!

:thumbsup2 ;) :lovestruc :cloud9: :dance3: :cheer2:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Oh, and I guess I'll need a new ticker!!! :)

There is a nice big bathroom on the lobby level at Jambo House, I am sure there are areas around the pool right?

I only remember the tiny bathroom on the lobby level at Jambo (right by Zebra Trail).

The big restrooms are downstairs by Boma. :thumbsup2

There are restrooms by the pool, but I don't know how big they are. I would hope they have a changing area there?

The stays with studios are all 1-2 nighters out at the VGC which is only about 1/2 an hour from our house. It's mostly because we have a late night/early morning or we might be indulging and don't feel it's safe to drive home. Our longer vacations are at WDW and I won't consider less than a one bedroom there because if we fly across the country I want a nice room! Next time will be at Kidani!

Are you guys not coming down to SSR in December anymore?

You must definitely need a new ticker! This will be a first for me also going twice in one year. It is a good feeling that's for sure!

Last night here at AKL, what a delight this trip has been and I have never been more relaxed at WDW. This trip has been more about the resort than the parks for sure! AKL rules, now time for one last trip to Boma!

Here is the latest list of everyone visiting the remainder of 2011 and 2012....:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Are you guys not coming down to SSR in December anymore?

No, it's too soon, the leg is healing, but not fast enough that a December trip would be enjoyable. Besides I got my confirmation on our Candlelight package at DL and it ended up being on the day of my flight! :lmao: So we'll just relax and enjoy that.

So sorry to hear about this, but sometimes we have to keep our priorities in line. Vacation is nice, but there's always that slap in the face that other things are unfortunately more important. Hope things get better soon.

I realize that check in is not until 4pm, but are there places where we could change clothes if we need to? We have a 6pm ADR at 1900 Park Fare. Thanks

You might also try the Massage/Fitness center. I got a massage there, and it seemed to me that there were locker rooms for changing. I could be crazy too!

There are locker rooms next to Mara. Some people use the pool after they have checked out and then shower and change in the locker rooms.

:wave2: Hi, Js and Ks! Crazy busy here so, no morning wishes today. Sorry about that!

Elin,

Congratulations on 20 years!! :woohoo: I know your students have had one of the most awesome teachers ever and you have left an indelible mark on each and every one of them!

I only quotes Laura's post, but "Thank You" all for such kind words. :goodvibes I do love what I do every day. Well... almost every day ;) but because I do we don't live in Florida! :rotfl:

Got a text message from Wendy.... She is doing well. even cracking on her Tigers!!!!:rotfl:

Thanks for letting us know our "old Wendy" is getting better!

Congratulations! That's quite an achievement and that the time has flown by means that you have really enjoyed it too! :goodvibes I would say my 11 years at Alfred Publishing were like your 10 years in public school! :rotfl:

Alfred, huh? Much of the music I order anymore is from that company! small world. Too bad you didn't enjoy your time there. :(

Thanks to you guys sending us some Pixie dust we finally got out of Newark at 1:00. Arrived at 5:30 at AKL so we were cutting it close for Boma's but threw different clothes on and made it on time. Now for the big news: upgraded from pool view to savanna view at the end overlooking Kidani. Great location. Already saw a few giraffes. Things are looking up!

Glad you all made it!

I was wondering if that was what one of your previous posts meant. I'm glad you were able to get into BCV, that'll be very nice :) and glad everything worked out with the CP. I left it too late to call, underestimated the demand I guess. Hopefully we'll still be able to get "ok" seats.

Actually I misrepresented myself. Morton & Iris Manus were the most wonderful bosses and I absolutely LOVED my initial employment there. They handed the business over to their sons, and as I understand there was some shake up after I left, but towards the end of of my employment, I had a few misencounters. I loved working with Dennis Alexander, Gayle Kowalchyk, Martha Mier and others, I met Willard Palmer and Maurice Hinson before they died, plus some of the wonderful band composers. It was a great job, until my last couple years where someone started putting something foul in the Kool Aid.

If you ever received invitations to a piano clinic in the 1990's, I probably had a hand in sending that to you. I managed the mailing list and worked with all the piano, band, orchestra, guitar, etc people to send out direct mailings. Anything from 1992 about 2001 that was mailed from Alfred, I picked the names. I broke my foot in 1999 when moving and was out of work for 2 months. It really gave me a reality check, and when I came back to work, I wasn't interested in working five days a week, but at that point they were willing to work with me because they valued me as worker. Later they assigned me a new boss who mandated that I worked five days a week. With a 52 mile commute and aging inlaws I opted to resign my postion.

They actually kept me on as a "caterer" for lunch parties and paid me a flat fee and I could keep anything that I didn't have to spend on the lunches. One of the things that Morty and Iris valued was that everyone had lunch together every month or other month. They were "Pizza Parties" when I started, but I introduced the idea of "international lunches" and made employees try all kinds of unique cuisines. I did that for about two years after I left it it gave me a nice time to come back and have lunch with my previous coworkers. But in 2004 my MIL and FIL got really sick so I had to resign from those lunches. Now I have lost touch with Alfred altogether.

I enjoyed most of my time there, but the last few years leave a sour taste in my memory.

Sorry to hijack the thread with such an OT post, but although we don't really know each other Elin and I share quite a bond with her being a piano teacher and me having spent so long in an industry dedicated to her profession I sort of get out of hand! I really did LOVE  most of my tenure at Alfred, it was only the last year or two that soured the relationship, and even then it was still bittersweet. :grouphug:
