Is it true about the rumors on ***********??

My guide stated BLT was 130 and the other 2 were 120.
I did not ask about SSR, or retired resorts.

BLT is $130 for existing members and prospects with a referral, $140 for non-referred prospects.

SSR is $99 per point. Prices on others vary and inventory is not always readily available.

When our friends were there a couple weeks ago and purchased SSR with the referral, they were not offered the other deal. They really wanted OKW, but were told it would be more than SSR, so I think the sold out resorts are not in on the "deal".

If they REALLY wanted to offer an incentive, they should get serious and offer a one night stay in the Cinderella Castle suite with a full price purchase and/or a one-time membership in Club 33.

I think they would get some takers on this, especially from hardcore Disney fans due to the rarity of these places.

Oh, man, what a GREAT idea. I don't think there are enough nights in the year to fill the demand for Cinderella's Castle, though.

I'm currently in ROFR for a resale right now, and I can tell you it would take A LOT more than they are offering to pay the extra for a direct purchase. I like the idea of getting a perk that you can't get anywhere else.

If they were to do the night in the Cinderella Castle as a promo...My wife might forget my name in her haste to find the checkbook. princess:

They'd be booked for the next 400,000 nights. I believe that's the number of DVC members.

DVC did away with all promotional incentives on SSR. The price is a flat $99 per point regardless of how many purchased.

The $21-41 per point savings for SSR is the trade off for not getting the "free trip."

If the incentives do not apply to SSR and it has a flat price, does that mean it is officially "Sold Out"?! :cool1:

That is exactly why it would be a great promo and cause people to add on for a large amount. They could even set the bar at 500 (or more) points, since only 365 people per year would be eligible.

If they did this, they should throw in breakfast at CRT, too.

I know if we were making an initial purchase, we would go up to 500 points just for this (even if we were planning on buying 160).

Nope. DVC still has about 450,000 points that were never declared into inventory plus an unknown number from ROFR, foreclosures, etc.

They simply decided to change their sales approach with SSR. About 4 months ago they had it priced at $120 per point with incentives in the $15-20 neighborhood. But after a short time they opted to simply drop the price to a flat $99 per point and not offer any incentives.

Just a different marketing approach, I guess. :confused3

I'm sure DVC would LOVE to be able to offer things like that (castle stay) as incentives. The problem is getting other business units to sign-off on it AND negotiating compensation that is acceptable to DVC.

A year or so ago when DVC surveyed members on perks, the castle stay was one of the things mentioned. Makes me wonder if it might be an option if they ever get their "high point owners club" off the ground.
