Is it too late to reserve a villa from VRBO?

I already have a hotel reservation at blue tree, but just last night, my sister messaged me she's got us a rental car. Finally, after much convincing for her to rent a car (i'll be paying for the accommodation, she's in charge of the transpo), instead of relying on shuttle service and taxi, she finally did.

I'm thinking of booking a bigger villa or condo, cheaper and with sure clothes washer and dryer.

Can i rely on the reviews posted at VRBO?

I've booked through VRBO numerous times and they are pretty reliable. I've always gotten what I needed and for a decent price.

Thanks for the reply writermommy.

One more question please. Is it an absolute must that i get that "vacation protection" when booking thru vrbo?

There are other Co. that rent out Villas .

Try IPG Vacation Homes on Hwy 192

I just reserved a townhouse through vrbo for the 24th. Slim pickings but had a couple of replies. :)

I'd be more concerned with cancellation insurance rather than the guarantee.

Just booked a 3-br unit at legacy dunes from godisneyvacation. :yay:

But i'm still kindof worried, like what happened at summer bay resort, that sink hole that toppled a few buildings, then what happens ifi don't get an insurance for that sort of incident?

Also, when is the $300 refundable deposit due? And after the stay, how easy is it to claim it back?

@Sympatico :) , i messaged the owner thru vrbo, but ended the transaction outside vrbo, paid via paypal, where do i buy the cancellation protection? How hard is it to claim from these insurance agencies? I live outside US.

I use insuremytrip.com After you put your dates and info in they will bring up insurance companies and rates. These all cover rental homes. When it says tour operator you just choose the "none" option.

FWIW I think you made a good decision. My DD and I stayed at Blue Tree 2 years ago for a week and it was very dated and the rooms were tiny. No elevator so we had to haul luggage up outside concrete stairs, pools very generic. It was our least favorite place we have stayed.

Thanks Ametista. I've already cancelled two hotel reservations before this. And this time, no more cancellations allowed!

And yup, i agree the room at blue tree looks tiny. And not all rooms have washer and dryer.
