Is it too late to buy?

If I put in an offer on a DVC resale contract at SSR this week (July 22), will I have access to my points in time to book a stay for April 28 -May 2? I’m worried that there won’t be any studio rooms available at my home resort and will then have to pay cash to stay somewhere. The 7 month window is Sept 28 and there’s a good chance I won’t have my points by then.

Based on history you have till 5-6 months before SSR studios are not available for your desired time.

If you are still waiting to get the points in early OCT, you could rent DVC points for a stay in SSR. Once inside the 7 month window, points are easier and cheaper to rent.

I think you will be okay to at least find a studio at SSR and/or OKW. Worst case a split stay.

I was just looking at Kidani for May, and there was a lot of availability, at least for the Savanna Studios. With such a large resort, you would likely get in on a wait list pretty quickly.

We went at that time this year and didn't have a problem getting a studio at OKW on shorter notice than that. But I'd have a backup lined up just in case.

I too think that you will have a good chance of getting something during that time frame with a resale purchase, providing it does not get taken via ROFR. As long as you know you have to be flexible with where you will stay for the first trip...may not be your home resort...then I think your timeframe will work out!

I’m confident you will be able to book a studio at one of the big three, Old Key West, Animal Kingdom or Saratoga Springs
