Is it the Crocs or the Klutz?

I finally bought a pair of Nile crocs--just could not stand the clunky original style. I love the Niles--so comfortable and airy and gives great support w/o being heavy.

Only problem is that several times while walking in the Niles I've stumbled when I caught the inner upper part of the shoe (just below the edge where the big toe is) on the ground. I don't usually stumble around like that. Has any one had a similar problem with Crocs? Or am I just a klutz?

thanks

not wishing you bad luck but I'm really hoping it is just you. I just ordered a pair of the Niles yesterday and I'm not the most graceful person in the world.

I'm sorry, but I about spit out my soda as I read your post. Not laughing at you, mind you, but with you. I, too, cannot walk in those shoes. I know exactly the stumble you're talking about. I did it 3 times in one day with that pair of shoes. Lucky for me though that the pair I had on weren't mine. I was wearing my mothers to see how I liked them. I discovered I don't. :lmao: So, it's either the shoes or we're both klutzes. I'm really not particularly klutzy though. :confused3 Interested in hearing other shoe owners experiences.

Well that makes me feel marginally better that others stumble as well in Crocs. I'm no ballerina but I usually manage to stay upright!

I love my Niles--so I will keep walking in them--maybe I can train myself to walk so I don't fall all over the place.

haven't fallen YET......but it's only been 3 hours but dang, these shoes are comfy!!!!!

DH and the kids thought it was a complete riot everytime I tripped. They were actually counting the number of times I tripped. They thought it was me, not me, it is the shoes. :rotfl2:

I have two pairs of Niles, am generally clutzy, but I haven't had this problem when I walk in them.

I did have a problem walking at WDW with my old worn crocs. I slipped in MGM on the white lines painted on the street and on wet, wooden stairs. So I bought a new pair of Mary Janes, and I was fine.

I too own a pair of crocs and wore them at work as a nurse. They are comfortable, but I tripped over myself more than I can count when wearing the crocs. Our hospital actually created a new policy which no longer allows us to wear crocs for that very reason. :cutie:

I trip at least twice every time I'm out in mine....I don't do that in any other shoe product...but I still like them...:headache:

Another tripper here. The inner upper edge of all my Crocs have a tendency to grab. Also if they get the least bit worn and I step in a muddy area I go sliding.

just wanted to add my .02 cents here...

yesterday at work wearing my crocs, tripped over a chair leaving a pts room and fell into the doorway. Normally I am not a klutzy person but thanks to this brilliant move I have a hairline fracture in my left hand now!! I caught myself full weight on the door way. Of course I was to embarrassed to immediately feel any pain.

BE CAREFUL!!

At least I can laugh about it now but I think that is due to the pain pills:rotfl:

This type of fall is affectionately known in our family as the "crocs flop". I don't know what it is but I always seem the catch the toe of my crocs on the ground. It usually happens outside, never inside. But it's not enought to bother me. I'll keep wearing my crocs!

thanks for all the replies--I love my crocs so I think I will practice lifting my feet when I walk.

Nile crocs are a croc style more like a open-toe sandal. There is a wide band across the top of the foot and the toes are open. The top band also has cut-out on the sides.
If you go to any shoe site online you can find a picture.

thanks again

Klutzs of the world unite!! :dance3:
I wear Athens for work, and if i trip once in a shift, i trip 10 times! My workmates used to think it was fun, but ive done it for so long now, it doesnt even raise a smile anymore :rotfl: :rotfl:

The soles seem to stick on the carpet, unfortunately i dont and my body keeps going :rolleyes1

Oh this is too funny! Of course I am laughing with you not at you. :rotfl2:

I only trip in my crocs if they are wearing down on the soles.

But I often just trip without shoes on for no aparent reason. DH asks me if the air jumps up and trips me.

One time I fell going UP the stairs and sprained my ankle! :confused3 I loved trying to explain that one.

Then there was the time I was pregnant and fell down the stairs holding my older son  DH got so scared he jumped over me (like superman) Amazingly no one was hurt. :cheer2:

I do it all the time with all my Crocs. I stumble in any shoes I wear! It's me and not the shoes. When I am in a FIBRO FLARE my foot drops and I catch it and stumble.

I trip in the regular crocs. My husband laughs hysterically every time too! I thought it was just me and my big feet, but maybe it is common.
I love them, though (have the disney ones), so I just keep wearing them-just have to remember to pick up my feet. I do have to "think" when walking though and that is kind of annoying.

Wow.
Just searched Nile Crocs and I have to admit they are alot nicer then the originals, not so clunky an all! look very comfy too!
