This may have been asked/answer but I want to know.....

DH and I did the eco-tour on the jet skis at CC. The tour was nice, you jet ski in a single file line, not too fast (unfortunately ha ha), but the coolest part is you go to a sand bar about 2 miles from CC and I SWEAR it's the sand bar they use in POTC At World's End when Elizabeth, CJ, Will, Barbosa, Davy Jones and Beckett meet. It HAS TO BE IT! It looks just like it, complete with that other island in the distance behind it. When we saw POTC myhusband and I turned to each other at the same time and said 'hey, that's the sandbar!'. Anybody know for sure?

Hello Fellow NH'erite

I am not a complete POTC guru - but this is what I found!

Dominica is one of the filming locations used in Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3: "Dead Man's Chest" & "At World's End". And now in Mark Burnett's "Pirate Master!" This is especially fitting since the island is not just the most unspoiled island in the eastern Caribbean, but in reality it was home to many pirates and their legendary treasure!

Have been on the tour!

Sorry...

Sorry that your tour wasn't too fast. There must have been some kids on the tour. Our tour was only 4 adults and we went pretty fast. I'm no wimp, but I had a hard time holding on at times. That sand bar is really cool and it sure does look like something from POTC.

I've seen that scene over and over again. I'm 99% certain it's the same sand bar. It's identical in shape and size plus you can see that other island in the distance (Castaway Cay would be behind the camera. Notice they never shot towards that direction throughout the scene.)
OK, anybody heading to CC this week, PLEASE ask, it's buggin' me now!:rotfl:

Sorry, as other's have mentioned in the filming locations Castaway Cay was NOT used AT ALL for any filming of any of the POTC movies ...Trust me on this , I would seriously know ... Plus had they used the island they would have promoted it very heavily ...

Oh, it's not Castaway Cay, it's about 2 miles away, closer to another island. It did list Bahamas as a location so I was just wondering.
Does anybody know the sandbar I'm talking about?

I read somewhere that they filmed near Abaco island which is the island off in the distance from CC....so who knows!!!

Abbaco! That's right. I couldn't remember the name of that island.

I was on the same tour and I had the waverunner completly opened up, holding on for dear life. :lmao:

I wonder the same every time I watch that movie. But I bet the guides would be sure to point that out if it was the location. ;)

I love that excursion, in fact am going on it again next week.

That was the best excursion of my whole trip last time.

Last time we did it first, this time we are doing it at 3:30 in the afternoon.

CAN'T WAIT!

Rickyshell, can you ask next week pretty please?!

You know, it actually wouldn't surprise me if they intentionally DIDN'T say anything about the location, because they may want to keep people on pleasure crafts and such trying to land there, just because it's in the movie. Security and all that? Am I crazy? :confused3

Parley Sandbar
Also not the actual name. Because Davy Jones can only step on land once every ten years, he and Lord Cutler Beckett meet with Elizabeth Swann and Captain Barbossa there (while Jones stands in a wooden tub filled with water). While there, they swap Will Turner for Jack Sparrow, and Elizabeth vows to Beckett to avenge her father's death. It is seen only in At World's End. This sandbar is not something done in a studio. The sandbar itself is a mile or so from Disney's private island Castaway Cay, which is also the final resting place for the actual movie prop "The Flying Dutchman".

Says it located at White Cay?

unfortunately my jet ski excursion was cancelled due to high winds.
A lot of the excursions on castaway were cancelled due to high winds that day so I was unable to ask the sand bar question. Sorry.

A-HA!!!!! I knew it!!!!!
Thanks for the info!
