Is it safe to use a steam mop on Pergo floors?

I was thinking of getting a Steam Mop for Black Friday and was wondering if anyone has used this on Pergo floors? I'm just worried about the floors warping from the water being too hot. We normally use Murphy's Oil soap and a mop and that works fine. But it would be nice to be able to clean the floor more often - love when the floors are clean and shiny :cloud9: And don't want to put the work into it- I dread mopping the floor :scared1:

thanks for any advice!:thumbsup2

I have both Pergo and Mohawk laminant flooring and I have a Haan and love it. My floors are fine. I used to use a Swiffer and it always left a sticky buildup.
Hope that helps!

do you guys have dogs??? im thinking about getting the fake wood prego for my kitchen and dinning room, but worried the dogs nails would kill the floor.

My previous home had pergo and we used a shark steam mop with no problems.

We did not have dogs but had kids that dropped some pretty heavy toys on the floor. It never left a mark. Those floors were pretty resilient. We now have real hardwood floor and it can scratch if we aren't careful. We still still use our steam mop though.:thumbsup2

I've got two dogs and they both do fine, except the older one has some troubles with the stairs but I have stair runners so she's ok going up and down without slipping.

we've got Pergo floors in the 2 guest rooms and the hall...we've got 2 basset hounds and a dachsund. Not a scratch on the floors. they're fantastic. They do show hair and dust like crazy, so you have to stay on top of it.

We have Pergo floors throughout our downstairs and in our bedroom and I've been using my Shark probably once every other week for the last few months and I haven't had any issues.

My parents have Pergo and a golden retriever, they've had the floor for about 5 years and have no scratches; and the dog frequently slips and slides on it...you can hear her nails.

When we were looking at Pergo vs other laminate vs hardwood, the sales guy took his key out of his pocket and keyed the Pergo, no marks at all. The same cannot be said for the other 2 surfaces.

Just curious - does anyone have a great sale on a steam mop on Black Friday? That one thing "may" get me out of bed on Friday morning...:rotfl:

gotta love the Dis...dh and I were just talking about this this morning! :) Looks like we'll be getting a steam mop:thumbsup2

I love my shark steam mop for my pergo (kitchen) and hardwood (main part of the house) as well as tile (entry and bathrooms). I definitely clean my floors way more often than I used to before the shark.

I also have the shark pocket steamer that I used to clean my cabinet doors, glass cooktop and outside of dishwasher/oven.

I don't have Pergo brand, just a cheap knock off. No dog nail scratches and the steam mop works great on it. The steam mop leaves the floors just oh so barely wet, it usually dries completely in just a minute or two. I also use a rubermaid spray mop with a mix of water and vinager for quick clean ups and that works fine too.
