Dh and I are planning a Paris trip for thanksgiving and Delta has the cheapest fare. I'm concerned; however, as I don't know if it's safe to buy the tix with their bankruptcy and all - any thoughts?

Safety, in this respect, is relative. Even though I don't buy travel insurance, I tend to watch the list of air carriers that insurance underwriters are willing to offer travel insurance for. Here's the currently list of airlines that are covered from Access America:

  • Airtran Airways
  • Alaska Airlines
  • America West
  • American
  • British Airways
  • Continental
  • Frontier Airlines
  • Jetblue Airways Corporation
  • Midwest Express Airlines
  • MN Airlines d/b/a Sun Country Airlines
  • Nippon Air
  • Qantas Airlines
  • Singapore Airlines
  • Southwest
  • US Airways
So I suppose Delta is still not "safe" to purchase.
