IS IT REALLY TRUE?

Yes. Most schools start back by Labor Day, and most parents are hesitant to take kids out of school during the first week or 2 of classes.

Last year the weekend itself was really really packed and crowded but I wasn't there after to say if that was more empty. There is 5 states that go back to school just after labor day and the rest including florida are already in school before labor day so it tends to be a crowded weekend but around it not so bad..

I havent' went into the parks to see the crowds that showed up this week but the yearr started really full and it's been going down on crowds. I think this fall might be quieter than normal.

I'm thinking last year some of the northeast schools were a little later than normal starting, maybe because of a Jewish holiday?

We are planning a trip from Sep 4th-Sep 10th. From all sites that have crowd calendars, it says it is one of the lowest weeks/days (Including Labor Day).

We have been twice over the Labor Day Holiday. Over the actual weekend of the holiday from Fri-Mon it is crowded (not huge crowds but def busy) by Tues-Wed the crowds thin and wait times are some of the lowest of the entire year.

If I had to pick a specific holiday then Labor Day would get my vote. Just know the holiday weekend itself is busy, but the days following are excellent.

Last year, it was a lot more crowded than previous years. I'm interested to see how it will be this year again. We always get there the day before or on Labor Day (getting there on Labor Day this year). I am hoping it's a bit quieter this year as last year, I was super surprised by the big crowds.

They were fine. We did AK on Labor Day with a good size crowd. DHS wasn't bad and Epcot was pretty much empty. We did two days at MK and both days were super busy but wait times were still on the lower side.

I actually didn't look up when they started but it could have been. The week before was that hurricane that didn't happen and that week was nice and quiet from those that stayed home to protect their houses. the second friday morning hit it was a wall of people that showed up and took over the place. Also MNSSHP started late so maybe your right.

To be honest it's a little misleading because it's always crowded, really crowded, ludicrous crowded and "why did i come on a holiday" crowded. Your not going to get a quiet week but I think those dates has potential with food and wine starting just after your visiting.

Our of curiosity, what were the wait times like during the week (Including Labor Day)?

Agreeing with these experiences. Of course, it was our first trip to wdw, but I was really shocked at the crowds! TP had predicted Saturday of Labor Day would be a 3 at MK and it ended up being a 6. Sunday was a 7! I think everyone was surprised at how crowded it was.

How were the immediate days following the weekend/holiday?

Tuesday through Friday were much lighter (though I remember being in Fantasyland in MK on Wednesday and it was really hard to move around in the middle part of the day), but by the next weekend the crowds really picked up again (from my perspective). I know last fall in general was significantly busier than previous years and there were several threads about the crowds.

Yeah, I guess Disney never really has a slow time, lol. We are just more concerned with wait times for rides than anything else.

We took a week long Disney cruise the week of Labor Day and went to the parks after and walked on everything without a fast pass.

What were wait times for attractions?
