Is it possible to go by foot to MCO from the airport North area?

Anyone know if you stay in the area (say Marriot Lakeside for example), is it possible to get to MCO without a car? Thx!

According to Google maps I would say, no.

It is 2.6 miles, a 6 min drive and walking does not show as an option. I would guess the roads do not have sidewalks and are not suitable for walking.

I asked for a walking option and it says no route is available.

I've stayed at Marriott Lakeside a few years ago for an early flight. IIRC, they had/have free shuttle service to the airport. That being said, I don't recall seeing any walkways/sidewalks along that route.

There is no safe pedestrian path. It's off highways that cannot be walked along, what with the volume of traffic to MCO there's no dinky little side roads to get there. There are other airports that don't have pedestrian access.

Public transportation, Uber/Lyft, and airport hotel shuttles are readily available.

I guess I just don't see the need for pedestrian access? The infrastructure for miles of walking path for seriously minimal use would be crazy expensive.

Who wants to walk 2-3 miles to/from the airport, probably dragging luggage, in July in Florida? Take a cab or the hotel shuttle.

Also, people drive like fools around the airport. Signs and lane markers be damned. You'd be lucky not to get hit by a car.

You may be the ONLY ONE with any interest. Two miles with luggage vs a free hotel shuttle. We can count the number of potential walkers on one hand.

Use one of the south parking lots as your starting points. You could, theoretically, walk to a.hotel south of the airport.

Disney could use some sidewalks. There are some places people might walk.

By most of us, are you from a different part of the world?

Nearly all of Florida revolves around car transportation. Go with the flow and drive, use Uber or a bus. People are looking at their phones when driving, not for pedestrians.

Stay safe. You'll have plenty of walking opportunities around the theme parks.
