Hopefully there is a mtg underwriter on here to help with this. Here is the situation. DH had a business. When the economy went bad so did it. Filed bk converted to a 7 and let our houses go with it. Had 2 One we were living in and the other we were selling on land contract. We told the people and they stopped paying. Bank foreclosed on house we were living in. The other house the bank does NOT want. They won't foreclose, won't let us do a deed in lieu, they don't want it back. County was going to foreclose for taxes but people still living in it made arrangements to pay property taxes. We have been living in FL for 1 1/2 yrs. Houses are in Ohio. The people had signed a quit claim deed so our atty filed and we will start eviction on them.
We want to buy a home. When we call and ask around we are told no because we own the house in ohio. It is in our name, but credit report shows zero balance. Is this the case os is there a way that we would be able to purchase a home down here. What if Dh deed a quit claim deed to me. ( He has a better paying job than I do) Then there wouldn't be anything to tie him to the house correct? ANy advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!
