I've asked on the budget boards, probably not the right place too... but
I want to apply for a credit card to make renting the van for August easier.

We have been credit card free for over 15 years. I have no clue what is the best out there. I know I really don't want a yearly fee, unless you can tell me the perks are worth it.

So does anyone have a card (true credit card) that they would recommend?

We use our Disney Visa for everything too. The only thing we can't pay on it is our mortgage and I make sure I pay it off at the end of the month so no interest and no fees.

If you do sign up for a Disney Visa tell them you want the promotion that gives you 200 points after first use.

Alright, I just spent the last few hours planning out our trip. Our first day is going to be spent mainly at AKL. I can't wait!! We land at 10:30 am, and should be at AKL and checked in by lunch time (I hope!) We'll have lunch at Mara... then check out the resort, swim, & nap (we have to leave at 330 am for the airport). We have ADRs that night at Boma, then if we're not too tired we'll hop on over to the MK for the electrical parade, Wishes, and a Dole Whip! 58 days to go!

If he does and pays for it, can he share across it and his in room internet for $9.95/24 hours?

Not sure about the lobby but the internet in his room is through an ethernet cable (sp). Unless he was to bring a router he can only use it on one computer. But if he is a DVC member the internet is free.

Just want to take a minute to introduce myself. I've been lurking on the boards for a few weeks, pouring research into our upcoming Disney trip. It's going to be our first family vacation! I have only been to Disney once as a kid over 20 yrs ago, and it holds some of the best memories of my childhood.

After looking at everything I could get my hands on, I just fell in love with AKL. It took a little convincing to get my SO on board due to the extra cost, but we're now officially booked for Sept 19-23 AKL CL!!!

I am so looking forward to this trip! This will be our son's first trip to DW, and it's an early 5th birthday present (going 3 wks early thanks to the kids stay and play deal).

Any advice or tips are more than welcome since this is my first time planning a DW trip. Look forward to hanging out here more....if I can stand all the pictures of the zebra domes. Mmmmmmmmmmmm

I'm such a nerd, just ordered all of us matching sweatshirt (even monogrammed) for our trip. It was tough telling DH that we would have them for August. I think he is under the impression I am really losing it!! They are for the Christmas Trip, but heck, if I have to pack them for August I will.

Victoria Falls is a great place for a meet, no matter where anyone's staying!! Those of you at the Lodge could also head over to the Epcot resorts for another meet! (lots of great spots there!)

JAMBO - - Congrats on your first trip - I do think you've made a VERY bad decision though, you see, once you stay at the lodge - well, you'll become addicted like the rest of us!!!!! You WILL love it though, it's such a wonderful place. As for your DS - there are tons of things for him to do at the lodge, at the check - in desk you'll see an activities board - everything going on will be posted, dates, times, etc..... then there are the animals of course, the pools, Simba's, etc... etc.... - Not sure who you are working with at IPO - but DON is the MAN around here - he's awesome!!! Anywhooo, you came to the right place - stick around here - we'll try to answer any questions you might have, plus we're a lot of fun!!!

I am an even bigger nerd as I am making custom Disney clothing for all the kids and making matching Tshirts for DH & I. It's the only place that I can get DH to be matchy matchy.

Seems like a bunch of Jambo peeps will be there the first week of Oct. I was suppsoed to be at the Poly 10/1-10/8 with my BFF and her family. DH is not going on this trip. Even with my 40% off code it's still a bunch of $$$ so I'm thinking I might just stay with my points at AKV. ( I did try BLT, but they have no studios available.)

I was worried about being solo and not having fun at the Lodge, but with so many people there that week, I'm thinking it may not be a bad idea.

Anyone have any idea how much a cab is between AKL and the Poly?

Here is the deal, and y'all know there are a whole lotta "ifs" involved... This would be "our time" to be at WDW next too. IF we make it, we will definitely be at any meet planned, but especially the one at The Ditch... I mean La Cava.
