Yikes, my posts are so dull, we were on page 3:scared1:

...kewl...:thumbsup2

We are planning a grand gathering at Kidani Village at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and we have never used the WDW transportation. Can someone give me some advice or tips on what we should do? We have always rented a car, but that was with 4 people not 10. HELP.....make my mind up for me, please.I am curious about timing for ADR's ect....
Thank you,
Jonna

So the interview @ the agency went well....She said she'll know something either by the end of business today, or by Monday @ the latest...It's a temp to perm position @ an interesting company-I'd be in the billing office of a company that specializes in helping people w/sleeping disorders..It's a great schedule, Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30pm...The only issue w/that is my father has a ton of Dr appointments, Scott will have to take him to all of those unless something can be worked out....She said she didn't know the exact $ amount per hour, but said it's ''in my range'' so that sounds a lot better than my friends crappy paying retail position:rotfl: But I don't want to burn any bridges, she's been my friend for over 30 years, so I did send her a text saying I didn't come in yet to fill out application because I am waiting to find out about this temp position. Cross your fingers for me:flower3:

Good luck! pixiedust:

So all 10 of you will be staying at Kidani? Do your ADRs tend to be at the parks or at the resorts?

Kidani has bus service to all of the parks. It shares the buses with Jambo House. All of the park buses stop at Kidani first and then Jambo House. The DTD bus stops at Jambo house first and then Kidani. So if you want to go to Jambo House from Kidani, you can take any park bus (or walk). To get back to Kidani, take the DTD bus (or walk).

Donald is #1,
Thank you for the information. That helps. I tried to get most of our ADR's at the parks for the days we are at the particular park. I wasn't sure how AKLV bus service worked, but I think we will just use the bus transportation instead of renting a Van or 2 cars. :goodvibes
Thanks again,
Jonna:cloud9:

Just to ease your mind a little bit more - we've NEVER had a problem with using the busses - just allow yourself at least an hour to get anywhere - so, if you are for example going to a breakfast ADR - be at the bus stop at least an hour prior to the ADR time. Also, just remember - it you are a little late to an ADR - they will still seat you! And during the day - they run a golf cart between the resorts if you need to go to Jambo and don't want to walk or wait for a bus - I believe that ends at 4 PM though! :goodvibes

i have a standard room at AKL...anyone suggest a good area? I don't want to be near the bus stop!

...then don't request Giraffe Trail...ask for Ostrich Trail. Personally, I'd prefer Giraffe Trail so that I'd be near the bus stop, but that's just me...

we were walking to the buses and saw a room RIGHT next to to the bus stop and I said "omg, I would hate this room because of the noise"

that is all I am thinking of..I know all the good rooms at WL, but not AKL :)

Kim you're gonna make me dizzy:rotfl: I'm trying to follow your trip report, but the going back and forth is tough:laughing:

Good luck! pixiedust:

Thanks:goodvibes

Ok, here's what I know so far, nothing:confused3 Agency guy called me @ 12:15 to say the company hasn't gotten back to him yet about me...I just have an awful feeling that it's going to be like the last temp agency, call me, tell me how wonderful I am, and then don't give me the job:confused3
Very stressful...I'd give almost anything to disappear off to WDW

Like Wendy posted just make sure you give yourself at least an hour to travel. And if you are running late there are always taxi vans at the resort.

Athena  it is a sad day in New England

It certainly is! :sad2:

I leave tomorrow to go visit my Aunt and see how everyone is doing. Hopefully I will have good news to report when I return.

Plus the weather down there is 82 degrees everyday we are gone! no snow or cold in sight!

Well we are back....

First off, my Aunt is in ok spirits. She does not leave her house, she does not go anywhere or do anything but go to the Dr Appointments. She is recovering fine from the surgery, but she is not motivated to do anything. The surgeon told her to move around and walk and build back some energy but no one can get her to do anything.

They removed the baseball size tumor from her colon, and the 8 inches of colon. The spots on her liver and lungs turned out to be Apple sized spots on her liver and lungs. they will not remove them because they are on the front and back of her liver and front side of her lung.

It was confirmed that it was Ovarian Cancer and she did have a complete hysterectomy 26 years ago. The Surgeon said that the cancer seed was planted prior to the hysterectomy and became active cancer about 3 years ago.

2 years ago she was scheduled for a colonoscopy, but the Dr could not get past a "Kink" in her colon. The kink was the cancer. The surgeon said if they had looked better at why they could not perform the colonoscopy she would be 2 years ahead of where she is now.

She will be taking chemotherapy, starting Wednesday, and it will last for 9 weeks. The Nurses and Dr.'s think that she will recover and be healthy. My Uncle and Father are very worried about her because she has lost 30 pounds since the operation and will not get up and do anything. She is 5'7" and down to 95 pounds. She promised me that she would get up and do things but I hate to see everyone so scared and worried.

She is the oldest of my Father's siblings and they all have had cancer now and she is the only girl.

Secondly, there was no warm weather! The high was 60 degrees on one day and the rest was upper 40's and low 50's while we were there, and everyone blamed us for bringing in the cold front. I never saw the sunshine.

Our planes were delayed last night and when we landed at BWI around 1 AM we skidded on the runway from all of the ice and scared a bunch of people on the plane. We got a 1/4 inch of ice which makes for a rough drive home.

But we are here and doing well.

Geez, So sorry for all that is going on with your aunt, still crossing my fingers, and sending hugs & pixie dust:grouphug::wizard:

...but a FANTASTIC day in New York! :dance3::woohoo::banana::cool1:

Oh you :sad2:[/QUOTE]

Ok, no new update on the job front...I spoke to the guy @ agency about noon time and he said that he had spoken to the company, but not about a yes or no for me:confused3 So he said again, if I don't hear from him in 24 hrs to call him back....This is sounding all too familiar:headache:

Scott is @ unemployment office w/about 50 people ahead of him:scared1: For some reason they didn't pay him last week, and according to his account online, they were paying him this week, either:confused3 But he can't get through on the phone so he's waiting.

I am greatful for all we DO have, really, believe me, but I wish some good luck would get tossed our way.:wizard:
