Eeeee - 9 weeks today we'll be on the plane and but 10 hours from checking in at Jambo!!

So excited!!

I'm triple excited as there are 6 of us on the same flight, so I'll have 3 different room views to enjoy!! We've not requested rooms near each other, just have 2 rooms with Arusha request and one that's a Savannah view "near lobby please" so I can't wait!!

I personally, if my dreams could come true, would love Kudu trail half way or further from the lobby so we can look back over to the big lobby window.

But then last trip we were Zerbra trail, 3 rooms off the lobby and it was SO handy for everything, that I'd be happy with Zebra again.

I'd love it if we got Kudu and my folks got Zebra and I could wave across the Savannah at them! :rotfl:

Sorry - can you tell I'm excited?!?!?

...not. at. all. ;)

I dunno...Arusha is pretty big, and the sunset savannah can count as 'near the lobby'....

Haha, to be honest as long as we can all see animals I don't mind!

I'll still be uber excited and running between our rooms!

...I forgot about the Sunset Savannah - that'd be all the rooms on the left side only...:thumbsup2 ...I had a savannah view room (Arusha) at Zebra Trail and the same view in Kudu Trail - honestly, they weren't THAT much different....JMHO.

Last trip I didn't walk over to look at the Sunset Sav, I think I'll make the effort this time, although we're only at AKL for 5 days.

I also want to go and see the Red River Hogs!

I keep worrying if I've done the right thing booking BW for the main stretch of our stay, I hope we like it as much as AKL!!

Hopefully being so close to EPCOT and DHS will be a nice trade off in any case.

Torsie - we're all getting excited for you!! :yay:

When you're at AKL, walk just past the Kidani pool to Pembe Savannah. Often times the red river hogs are hanging around (or sleeping!!) just inside the fence! They make the funniest noises too!

BWI is really a good choice. You will love the activity on the Boardwalk at night -- plus you can walk over to JellyRolls or Atlantic Dance Hall.

I LOVE AKL, but the location of the Epcot resorts really can't be beat! :goodvibes

...well, you can't beat the location - and there's so much to do there at night!

...but a FANTASTIC day in New York! :dance3::woohoo::banana::cool1:

popcorn::

:sad2: DH is still in disbelief. He wants a do-over:lmao: But we are now Steeler Fans at this house :rotfl2:

Ok, no new update on the job front...I spoke to the guy @ agency about noon time and he said that he had spoken to the company, but not about a yes or no for me:confused3 So he said again, if I don't hear from him in 24 hrs to call him back....This is sounding all too familiar:headache:

Scott is @ unemployment office w/about 50 people ahead of him:scared1: For some reason they didn't pay him last week, and according to his account online, they were paying him this week, either:confused3 But he can't get through on the phone so he's waiting.

I am greatful for all we DO have, really, believe me, but I wish some good luck would get tossed our way.:wizard:

I thought 2011 was going to get easier for you:hug:

Well we are back....

First off, my Aunt is in ok spirits. She does not leave her house, she does not go anywhere or do anything but go to the Dr Appointments. She is recovering fine from the surgery, but she is not motivated to do anything. The surgeon told her to move around and walk and build back some energy but no one can get her to do anything.

They removed the baseball size tumor from her colon, and the 8 inches of colon. The spots on her liver and lungs turned out to be Apple sized spots on her liver and lungs. they will not remove them because they are on the front and back of her liver and front side of her lung.

It was confirmed that it was Ovarian Cancer and she did have a complete hysterectomy 26 years ago. The Surgeon said that the cancer seed was planted prior to the hysterectomy and became active cancer about 3 years ago.

2 years ago she was scheduled for a colonoscopy, but the Dr could not get past a "Kink" in her colon. The kink was the cancer. The surgeon said if they had looked better at why they could not perform the colonoscopy she would be 2 years ahead of where she is now.

She will be taking chemotherapy, starting Wednesday, and it will last for 9 weeks. The Nurses and Dr.'s think that she will recover and be healthy. My Uncle and Father are very worried about her because she has lost 30 pounds since the operation and will not get up and do anything. She is 5'7" and down to 95 pounds. She promised me that she would get up and do things but I hate to see everyone so scared and worried.

She is the oldest of my Father's siblings and they all have had cancer now and she is the only girl.

Secondly, there was no warm weather! The high was 60 degrees on one day and the rest was upper 40's and low 50's while we were there, and everyone blamed us for bringing in the cold front. I never saw the sunshine.

Our planes were delayed last night and when we landed at BWI around 1 AM we skidded on the runway from all of the ice and scared a bunch of people on the plane. We got a 1/4 inch of ice which makes for a rough drive home.

But we are here and doing well.

Thanks so much, Wendy:hug: So glad you all don't mind me venting, I'd love to meet up with you some day, don't want anyone to be like ''oh no, not complaining Jen/Athenna'' I really am a happy person, I promise:flower3:

Jen...vent away;)

kimmar ~ Finally staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge in May. I am aprehensive since we could only get a 2 bedroom Standard View. We have never even stepped foot in the lobby of the Animal Kingdom Lodge or Kidani Village. Even though we have been very intrigued by the wonderful photos etc. We just never took time out of our vacation to visit the resort.

Not stayed at Kidani Village yet, but the whole atmosphere is so welcoming

Sorry but I have a quick question about a comment that I read in a trip report. Is there an Enterprise car rental near AKL? If so, does anyone have a clue as to what the address would be?
Thank you,
Jonna :goodvibes

Sorry I've been absent all day...Just wanted to pop in and say hi:flower3:
Nothing's changed here, same old same old.
Missing Kidani:love: Craving Sanaa, YUM!

...any job news?

None:confused3 Still waiting for this darned company to get it's act together and figure out what the heck they are doing...Today when I called he said he hadn't even heard from them today, said he'd call me tomorrow:rolleyes1
So of course I'm still applying other places in the meantime, I'm not going to sit around waiting for them.
Thanks for asking:hug: How are things with you? M-I-L?

I'm not sure about Enterprise, but we rented from National in Nov. - they are located on property and the shuttle will pick you up anywhere (even from a park). It wasn't far from AKL - we stopped on the way back for Zebra Domes! :thumbsup2

It used to be on World Drive but I think it closed. We used them for our trip in '09 but when I tried to search that location nothing came up.

We ended up using Dollar which is located at the former Regal Sun Resort. They changed their name I think to Wydam Resort:confused3 but they are a stone through away from DDT and will pick you up and bring you back. I found their prices to be the best. We are using them again for our upcoming trip in July and reserved a minivan for 2 weeks for $500 were other places were going for $800-900:scared1:
