Ok, here's the latest...Last night dad felt sooo much better...Said he was at about 80% and he wants us to go..A good friend of mine lives around the corner and offered to take over for me while I'm gone
Today he doesn't feel 80% and they think they have to keep him until Friday....But we're going anyway..The 1 issue they need to clear up isn't going to get better or worse depending on if I am there.
I've cried myself sick, literally over guilt...I've had friends coaching me all day about letting go of the guilt, letting my friend help so I dont have to do everything...Realizing a burned out, fried, daughter isn't going to help dad..He'd feel worse knowing I cancelled to for him.
So I'm going to WDW in the morn

athenna - go and have a wonderful time - your friend will take care of your dad and you will get a chance to recharge so you can take better care of him when you get home. Have a great trip!

Hey, I'm SO glad to hear he's doing better! AND I agree you shouldn't let the guilt over it consume you - I'm certain your Dad would MUCH rather you go and have a good time. You guys deserve to go and enjoy yourselves and kind of let loose a little bit. Big Hugs and save some domes for me in 4 days!!!!

Hello everyone! So excited, we rented DVC points and are staying 10/21/11-10/30/11 in a 2 bedroom value! I don't even care its not SV or CL or ANYTHING special, I am SOOOO excited!! I have lots of pages to go back and read, but I know I am in the right place with all of you!

Welcome!!! I can tell you that you are going to LOVE it - while I haven't stayed in a 2br (YET) - the 1br's are amazing!!! and I personally love having a savannah view, there is nothing like it, however, don't be disappointed as there ARE so many places to view the animals - you will be able to experience that. Are you at Jambo House or Kidani? I'm not sure where that info is........ but, remember, it's all relative. I know a lot of people think its SO far to everywhere - but, I disagree - I don't think it's that far away from any of the parks or DTD. Since they've added Kidani to the bus route, it does take a little longer than it used too, but again, I personally wouldn't trust any "timeframe" posted............. it's always different every time. A general rule we use is always allowing an hour to go anywhere. (of course all of this is just my opinion and experience) I"m sure someone who knows the info or where to find it will post for you!!

Thanks! I stayed at AKL in 2004 in a regular(non DVC) room with a savannah view. Loved it, but spent NO time at the resort, so it was kind of a waste. Although we paid for a regular room and got bumped, so not that much of a waste, hehe...

We will be at Jambo house since that is where the 1 bedroom values are, from everything I have read the 2 bedroom value is a one bedroom(one bathroom) connected with a studio. Works for us! We get the one bedroom, share the living/eating area, and the kids get the studio to themselves!

I'm going anyway, he wants me to go..And we found out about this 15 minutes after DVC MS closed for the night...If I cancelled, I'd lose ALL the points
8 days w/out him is a lot, I'll miss him and I am heartbroken for him
My best friend and her family are there, and I'm meeting up w/them tomorrow @ Epcot..And she is going to come on the Akershus ressie w/me on Thurs...I have to cancel my birthday Sanaa dinner I'm still gonna go and have appetizers & wine @ the bar like maybe for lunch.
I have to go cancel his flight now
Don't think I'll have time to pop back on, so I'll see you all when I get back
