Actually this will probably be our one and only twice in 1 year trip. There is sound reasoning of why we are going again.

1: I had all these AMEX bonus pts that I transferred to SW which I was going to use to get us our flights in April,2010. Unfortunately I couldn't use them for our trip and I refused to let free Southwest tickets go unused

2:We were given 2009 AKL points when we signed up which would also expire so we couldn't let that happen either

So our plan was born to go for the Christmas decorations and we get to go to MVMCP too!

I have been a long-time lurker on the boards. I have decided to come out of my long-time lurkerdom to say that these boards have made my last two trips with my DS(9) so much more enjoyable!

We are staying at AKL for the first time 5/7/11 - 5/14/11 and I'm SOOOOOO excited!!! My son and I have always wanted to stay there, but it's always been out of our budget. My DM is coming this time to celebrate her birthday in WDW, so we were finally able to do it!! I would love to hear what you all love most about AKL and what we need to make sure we see and/or do while we are there. We have a standard view room - any suggestions on room requests? Thanks for all of your help!!

The funny thing is when DH said he wanted to stay here I was not as thrilled as he was. But when we checked in and saw our room overlooking the pool it was just so magical. The aroma that greets you when you enter the lobby and everything else is just so welcoming.

In fact we fell in love with AKL so much that when we returned home we ended up buying DVC even though DH always said we never would do that.

Hi guys!

I'm just posting to see my countdown ticker...which is under six months now!!!!

IPO made my ADRs on Sunday and we got everything we wanted: Le Cellier,
'Ohana, Boma, Jiko, Sanaa, Garden Grill, Teppan Edo, and Chefs de France. Now it feels real, I've got my resort booked, airlines booked and now ADRS! Woohoo...now I have nothing else to plan for. Hopefully you guys can keep me entertained until then!

I know things have changed in all shops as far as what is carried, but I always felt like the AKL gift shop was the BEST on property! Loved all the ethnic stuff they had plus, hey, who can resist animals and Disney characters w/ African garb. I can't. It's like it was modeled after another continent or something. Weird.

...they sell all of that and more - packaged goods, clothing, toiletries, scrapbooking stuff, gifts, and lots of specialty items made by African artisans...

Lets get the bad news out of the way It's not bad news really...My leg isn't healing as well as it should, can't train for 3 days...No biggie, maybe I'll be more comfortable to run when the 3 days are over.

On to the good news:

1) My ME docs came in the mail today that means its really close now!

2) I think I've got a new full time job I got a phone call from a temp agency today, I don't want to temp but it's not a temp position after all! The guy that called me is new himself, and his boss was in the background telling him, ''it's not temp, it's perm''
It's the most money I have ever made

The only reason I said I think I've got the job, is because I have to meet w/the guy @ the agency tomorrow, an hour away...Which is fine but he wasn't positive of the hours that the company is looking for....My 71 yr old father lives w/us an has a lot of Dr appointments, I have to be able to take him to them..Cross your fingers!

I know there is one for BLT and I vaguely recall having seen something for Kidani but that was in the construction phase. Maybe a good one like the BLT has was never made. It was probably a DISer that made that one anyway. If I were more ambitious and had oh, a LOT more time, i'd make one.

Well, I hope they show up because alas it is to late for them to resend them, they wont do it this late..Happened to me in 9/09..The 1 and only time my docs never came..I called to check up on them a few weeks before leaving, they said the docs were on the way...I waited and called a week later and they said it was too late to resend...I was still able to get on the ME, I just had to bring my luggage.
