:rotfl2::lmao:

Disney for over a month!!!! :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

I'm assuming that was a typo....and if not I'M JEALOUS!!!! :laughing:

Looking forward to your pics!

Seeing how she said she was home and it is not 10/29 yet, I am guessing that it is a typo....:rotfl2:

Okay! Okay! It was a typo. Sheesh! :lmao: Too many Zebra Domes, I guess! Speaking of, I did not see any non-alcoholic ones this time, so I'm not sure if they stopped making them, or if I'm just blind.

Welcome back, TXMickeyLover!:goodvibes
Glad you had a great trip:thumbsup2

I can't wait for my trip, stressed to the max:scared1:

Thanks! Your trip will be here before you know it! Sending pixie dust your way to make it go by faster. pixiedust:

Hey guys, I'm a few weeks out from booking ADRS and I'm thinking of spending one night at Pop before checking in to AKL CL to save some $$$. I was wondering if you can book the sunrise safari on your arrival day at the AKL? We'd have to get up extra early, which is no problem, but just wondering if you already have to be at the resort to attend the safari?

Hi Everyone, Thank you all for the wonderful posts, prayers and thoughts. We both appreciate them. :grouphug: We have been working every day at dad’s house cleaning things out and organizing. He and mom did a reverse mortgage a few years ago, so we have 30 days once we get a death certificate to turn over an empty house to the mortgage company. Talk about stress!

But…..I have good news. :) We are leaving for WDW in 4 days. We leave Friday morning, will arrive in Orlando in the late afternoon. We are staying at Shades of Green for our arrival night. The trip I won starts on Saturday. We are staying at the Grand Floridian for five days with park hoppers for each day. One of our DD's and DSIL are joining us. :love: We have never stayed there so we are looking forward to a new resort and experience. I won the trip through (AAA) The American Auto Association in a on-line travel show interactive experience earlier this year. I have been told there are surprises waiting for us. :goodvibes Don't know what all that means, but we are going to enjoy it all.

After our stay at GF we are moving over to Animal Kingdom Lodge club level for a few nights. :cloud9: We are so looking forward to our stay. It has been wwaaay too long since we have been there. We had to cut our trip by about 5 days, but that is ok. We will be at our happy place and boy do we need a happy place right about now. Disney was very helpful in working out a way that we were not charge a cancel fee.
Don and Juanita have been fantastic about moving ADR’s and making suggestions when they couldn’t. They are such great people. Our plans include MNSSHP and The Food and Wine Festival, and you know what, I booked several F&W seminars during our visit. Boy, was I surprised to see that they all were during the time we now can be at WDW. Guess God had this all planned out for us all along.

I think you already have to be checked into AKL CL before you can take the Sunrise Safari since it's only available to those staying there.

Ok here I go crazy posting w/out the multi quote thing again:rotfl:

I'm having a good day today:thumbsup2 Ok, not the ''yeah fiance has a job and now we have money kind of good day'':rotfl: but a good day none the less.

To make a long story short-big kudos to Nia @ WDW Ticketing Dept. I had an issues w/what we were promised in January (paid out of pocket, not DVC trip) regarding tickets. They said since we had AP's we didn't need MYW, we'd get a credit..I wasn't a TA then, so I didnt know..Scott's AP is expiring soon, I called yesterday and 4 people refused to help me:eek: A supervisor said to go down and they'd help us, from BOSTON? Was she nuts:rotfl2:

I thought I let them off the hook too easy, and I wanted satisfaction! I called back today, spoke to CM Nia, who was shocked at the treatment I received yesterday..Bottom line is Soctt is getting a $210 credit towards new AP when we get there in Dec:woohoo: I was planning on using my TA discount to get a 7 day hopper, until Nia told me that I still have a $210 credit too:yay: AND I can combine my DVC $100 off discount
:woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay:
Now it's only going to cost me $4 more for an AP than a 7 day hopper.

Then! I discovered our airfare went down AGAIN! For the 3rd time! So we called and got a 3rd credit:woohoo:

Now, if fiance (and me, too really) could get jobs, then we could really celebrate!

Thank you all so much!:grouphug:

57 more days!:woohoo: I'll be eating at Sanaa (just to get us back on topic again:laughing:)

Just got back from our AKL split stay with BWI. I have to say that I MUCH preferred AKL. We had a standard view room on the far corner side of Arusha. I had steeled myself for the possibility of not seeing any animals from our balcony.

When we got in the room, I walked out onto the balcony, and there were FOUR giraffes walking about 20 feet away. Incredible.

We had dinner at Jiko (amazing - wild boar appetizer, and we both had the filet) and then went swimming in the pool. It was a LITTLE chilly, but we had a great time.

I woke up the next morning at 5:15 to get to EPCOT for a private event, and the same giraffes were sleeping right outside our balcony. When I got back from EPCOT, the giraffes were gone, but a few zebras were grazing. Very cool.

We had breakfast at Boma, which was pretty delicious, if pricey. We walked around the resort a bit before switching to BWI.

So, I am definitely hooked on AKL from my 15 hour stay there. When do I get to go back?

First off, I would like to say that I love reading this thread. You really get the sence of a tight bond between those who participate here which, I, for one, think is pretty darn cool.:worship:

With that being said, I haven't had the chance to stay at AKL yet, but plan to in about a year (we will be booking shortly after NYE). My girlfriend and I spent some time there before and after our Jiko ADR this past trip and fell in love with the resort. We plan on staying CL and taking some time to relax.

Now, this time next year my girlfriend and I will have been together for almost 4 years. If we are still together and take this trip together, as of now my plan is to propose (shhhhh.... don't tell). I know a lot can happen in a year, but I am a bit of a planner. Do any of you have any suggestions as to where in the resort would be a good place to do it? I was thinking maybe durring the sunset safari, but am open to suggestions since I have a lot of time to think it over. Also, would I be able to work something out with IPO to decorate our room while I am out popping the question for us to come back to?

Again, I love reading this thread and look foward to reading any thoughts and opinions. TIA!

Oh my gosh, there are so many beautiful places at AKL that it's hard to pick one! I'm sure IPO could come up with some great ideas for you. Do you want to do this in front of people, or do you want a private place? How about right in front of Arusha rock? :cloud9:

I don't mind if it is in front of people or not. At least not right at this moment. As long as it's special, that's what matters. That's sort of why I would rather do it at the resort than a park. To propose in the parks or at a restaurant seems kind of cliche to me.

The only way I would do it in a park would be to do it durring Wishes because she is obsessed with Full House and that's when Danny finally proposed to Vicki, but without Jesse and the Rippers playing on stage it just wouldn't be the same (it may have just been Jesse without the Rippers, not 100% sure). :rotfl2: I would rather do it at the resort when she would really least expect it.
