I'll assume that's college football? Sorry I don't follow it, so I'm just guessing.
We're in Patriots territory,NFL:thumbsup2 Heading to a local Tavern to watch the game today...I'd much rather watch it from ESPN club @ BW:laughing: Anyone ever try to get in to ESPN to watch football? WOW, we've waited in some crazy lines.

Yes it is College... University of Alabama (I am Alumni), DH is Texas A&M so we watch a lot of college football.

Mostly around here is Raven and Redskins and we are Cowboys fans but mostly just college football fans...

Enjoy your game today

Oh, ok, cool. The owner of my travel agency lives in Alabama and is a huge college football fan.

So sorry it took me so long to see this post...I was lazy in turning on the computer this morning:rotfl: and I'm in training for as half marathon, so by the time I ran, showered, etc, I'm just getting here now.
I agree 100% w/miprender, a week like that, you should book asap...And the prices seem to go up instead of down:sad2: so once you see a good price, lock it in:thumbsup2

Thanks much! I just saw another segment on Good Morning America this morning about not waiting around to book flights around the holidays...so Oct 5th I will be officially booked! One step closer to the World!

Since we're staying Club Level, I'm not going to do online check in this time. I can't believe it's only 1 week from today!!!

One week, I can just imagine the excitement you are feeling! Will you be eating any dinners at AKL?

Just wanted to say that I booked the Sunrise Safari for October 14th.....

I am so excited!!!!

I can't wait to hear all about it! I originally booked ours for Easter Sunday, but then changed it to the Thursday after Easter...and now I'm thinking of changing it back to Sunday! Just can't seem to make up my mind! :confused3 (What a surprise!) :goodvibes

Roll Tide! I used to watch the Crimson Tide back in the day when Freddie Kitchens was quarterback! :thumbsup2 But like Athenna, I'll be glued to the TV at four o'clock today watching Tom Brady!

GO PATS!!! They better beat the Jets today or DH is going to be :headache:

My neighbor's daughter goes to University of Alabama. They are really big into college football as her father used be a coach for different schools. Thankfully DH only follows NFL teams for football. I couldn't take anymore football in this house.:rotfl:

So will my father and my fiance:headache:

If you havent watched an NFL game @ ESPN on the Boardwalk, you've gotta try it once, it's a test of endurance:rotfl: You've got to get there mega early...First day of fiance's first trip in '06, Pats were playing so we went to ESPN, I figured that would be a good way to ease him in to a WDW vacation:rotfl: The heat index was 106, it broke records in Orlando that day, we saw most of the game standing in line watching the overhead tv..Finally when we got close, the hostess saw our Pats shirt, pulled us out of line and got us seats at the bar:rotfl:

I've taken us so off topic again:sad2: my bad.

Does anyone who has dined at Jiko lately know if this is still on the menu?

Durban Shrimp Curry - Organic Florida sweet shrimp stew Durbanesque curry sauce, artichokes, tomatoes, sweet peas and colusari rice $28.00

I checked both allears and the dis menus and it's not listed anymore...I was looking forward to eating this in April. :sad2: Does Jiko's menu change often?

Hi fellow AKL-Lovers!

I need to mail a long-time-overdue thank you note to Don at AKL -- does anyone know how to get it directly to him (postal address, etc)?

Also, can someone point me to the email address to WDW to compliment CMs?

He really went above and beyond for us (more than once) and I need to do something in return!:goodvibes

I haven't been reading and posting here much since we miss AKL and won't be getting to go back there any time soon -- that make it hard. ;)

Thanks in advance!!!:)

I don't know any of the answers, but I just wanted to say hi!:wave2: I haven't seen any posts in so long, it's nice to hear you're still out there! As you can see I decided on AKL CL...thanks a lot to all your help six months ago!:goodvibes Have fun in Disneyland! And did I see you're doing a Disney Alaskan cruise? Oh, I will definitely need to hear all about that!

Me again, asking about food! I'm still trying to figure out a cake for DD's birthday...I called both private dining and the cake hotline and got nowhere for what I wanted :( I wanted a fancy fondant cake that was savannah themed and AKL doesn't do this...I'd have to order from the Boardwalk and pick it up (yeah right), or order from the GF or CR and eat at one of their restaurants (but who wants a savannah themed cake at the CR or GF? :rotfl:) Private dining at AKL offered me the Mickey mouse head cake for $54 or the zebra cake for $48. Has anyone on here had one of these cakes? Are they delish or just ok?

We checked into AKL CL tonight about 6:30 and have loved every minute of it. We have a great room (with bunk beds! - even though we won't use them). The animals were waiting for us out on the savannah outside our balcony. The concierge lounge is a great place to just relax. We had a drink at the pool bar, Boma for dinner, and another cocktail at Victoria Falls. I had an Amarula cordial in the concierge lounge after dinner (yum). We are very excited about this trip!

Relaxing in our room watching Big Brother finale now. I will post pics when I can get them uploaded.

Awesome! :banana::banana:

Awesome! I love the sunrise safari! :cheer2:

Can you give me an idea of what to expect?

I've done it 6 times now (if I counted correctly!!) and it never gets old!! :cloud9:

You will find the Safari letter in your room the evening before. The morning of, you need to go to the lounge between 6:30-7am and have your park passes swiped (that's your admission into AK that day!). You are given your name tags at that time. You meet the group in the lobby (the letter & the Lounge CMs will tell you the exact time (usually 7:15-7:30). The 2 guides introduce themselves, stress that you take a bathroom break since you won't be near a restroom for over an hour and answer any questions you may have.

The guides will lead you out through the front doors to 2 waiting buses. Security does a quick check of your bags before boarding the bus since you will not pass through Security to enter the park.

On the bus ride over, your guide will give you lots of information as you pass through the backstage area (no pictures allowed until you actually get into the park). Once inside the park, they will lead you to the safari vehicles and your safari begins! :yay:

There will be many stops along the way for photos; lots of questions & answers. It's truly magical! :cloud9:

About the time your safari vehicle returns, the group heads to Pizzafari for breakfast. Usually the park is just opening so you may be walking against the crowd. (it's not that bad! :))

At Pizzafari, you will find your family's table - they use placecards. The chef will explain the dishes and then it will be time to get the fabulous food!!!

The guides stay and eat with the group so it's a great opportunity to speak with them -- they love their jobs and are always more than happy to answer questions or just talk about Disney!! ;)

Some Sunrise Safari pictures: (sorry they're so large and some are so blurry. Me & my new camera were just getting acquainted!! :headache:)
