.....ZD's for EVERYBODY!!!

Yummy!! :goodvibes Thanks Kimmar! :thumbsup2

Let us know how the Dr appt goes.

Thanks, Kim! That makes me feel a whole lot better! If there's no discounts, the Dolphin looks like a nice resort/area to wrap up our vacation...I thought it would be tough to leave the AKL for the Dolphin, but glad you've been and enjoyed it! :thumbsup2

The Swan & Dolphin are both great resorts. They are among my favorites!! :cloud9: (nice rooms, amazing beds, great location, and usually a pretty good price too!! :thumbsup2)

Kim,

Hope all goes well with your son. My son broke his right clavicle twice. We took him to a large children's hospital in our area. They took care of it in no time.

Kim, hope all goes well w/your son! Hope he heals fast:thumbsup2

Well, all the discounts came out today, I've got a client, he's just gotta decide! He wants AKL, he has good taste;) Nothing available his week:confused3 Almost all his backup plans have availibility, so hopefully I'll get him, booked later somewhere!

As for me, fiance thinks I'm nuts:rotfl2: I even went so far as to call DVC to check on availibility for 2 nights in Oct, they had 1 night studio or 1 bedroom in both Jambo & Kidani, but same night. So no 2 nights. But they did have avail at SSR:goodvibes..Flights would be $89 each way.

But then:rotfl: the following week had even cheaper airfare! Would work out to $77 each way! Oh well.

Kim - hope you son heals quickly and feels better. DH broke his collarbone the week before finals about ten years ago...that was interesting. Let me know if you have any questions DH can answer for you.

:thumbsup2

...just back - dr said that he COULD operate (because of the break) but it wouldn't heal any better or faster than if he left it alone....so, keep the arm immobile for at least a week or two....no phys ed till Nov 1 and he goes back in 3 weeks for another x-ray to make sure the bone is healing properly...

Kim, That is good news, no surgery. :yay: How old is your son? Will keeping him immobile and down with less activity be difficult? Sending prayers and good wishes for you all.

Thanks for the pictures and Zebra Domes. Gota get me some soon!

Well, no discounts for my week...getting a little nervous so I might book the Dolphin at the tail end of my stay for a few nights to cut the costs a little (because there's no way we're giving up the AKL)! I was wondering how long you're able to hang around the resort on your check-out day...can you access the CL lounge/pool until a certain time?

Hi Lissiesmum, When you stay concierge you have access to the lounge and resort until midnight of your check out day. It really is a nice way to enjoy a little more AKL. We have checked out of our room after having breakfast in the lounge (usual check out time), gone over to explored DTD and shopped, had a late lunch. Then back to AKL for evening offerings and headed to the airport for our evening flight out. It is so nice up in concierge with their private bathrooms, even changed clothes before our flight. :cloud9:

No reason why you couldn't swim and enjoy the day at the resort if you wanted. I do agree with Kim about checking in early at Dolphin for a good room assignment, but you could have one member of your party do that for you too while you swim and relax. Sorry, I don't remember how many of you are going on the trip. :rolleyes1

Kim,

That is great news, glad that you don't have to operate.

Well wishes and prayers for your family.

I was just able to get the new Room Only discounts that were posted this morning. I saved 25% on our Christmas vacation at AKL CL. Still hoping for a little bit better deal with an AP rate, but I will take this since I saved a little over $1200! :yay:

Whoo hoo for the savings!!!

...* sigh *...hoo-boy, strange weekend....my DS broke his collarbone on Saturday, so I have to wait to 9AM this morning to call the pediatric ortho dr. to make an appointment for him, to see if it has to be 'set'....

:thumbsup2

Glad to hear that you were finally able to get in and it didn't require surgery! Hoping the healing goes well!

OK. Seeing a lot of negative posts about the AKL busses and I want reassurance. We are going in October (14 - 18) staying AKL Pool View, so it's a "slower" time of the year. Are we going to have insane wait times for busses? If a park opens at 9, my plan is to be at the bus depot at 8. Am I allowing enough time? Not thinking I'll convince the rest of my group that we need to get on the bus any earlier??

We stayed there last year during October and we NEVER had a problem with the buses.:goodvibes

I've stayed there 3 times and haven't had a problem with the buses.

Kim, so glad your son doesn't have to have surgery:hug:

The tiles were all painted like you were under the water, so standing in the shower everything around you was like looking at underwater sea life, corals, fish, turtles, plant life.

It was beautiful and just from an art standpoint very tastefully done, not cartoonish, but life like.:goodvibes

This sounds really beautiful, I'll have to ask over on the S&D FAQ site!

You know I might be getting the Swan and Dolphin mixed up, now I can't remember....I am getting old.:headache:

I know the feeling!:goodvibes

Thanks for the thumbsup on the Dolphin, and helping me feel more at ease about our vacation. As long as we can get half my vaca at AKL, we'll be happy. Still crossing my fingers though for some magical discount so we don't have to move!

Athenna, you crack me up! :goodvibes I love it how you are always trying to sneak in a trip here and there...if I could afford to travel more, I'd be doing the same thing! Congrats on your new job as a TA...must be so much fun to get paid to help people do what you already love to do yourself! :woohoo:

Thanks Angel! Glad to see you again here after your absence and sorry to hear about your MIL! I think we'll probably play it by ear as far as sticking around the AKL or moving on to the Dolphin. Glad to know we have good options and can use the lounge past check-out! Have fun planning your trip as well...I will be living vicariously through you until we get to go! :cool1:

Kim, glad to hear your son won't need surgery...good news...but how will he take being immobile for awhile?

One last thing...just in case I do need to downgrade from CL to just savannah view if I can get a discount along the way, I was curious if there was a link or post about what animals you can find on the different savannahs? Just want some options, just in case! ;) With the new Arusha category, I'm wondering if there are an equal amount of animals on each savannah, or are there more on Arusha? We really don't care about what animals we see, but that there will be plenty of animals to see...does anyone have a preference on Uzima over Sunset, or would you just splurge for Arusha? Thanks as always! :grouphug:

We have never had problems with the AKL buses and have stayed there numerous times at different times of the year. I wouldn't call the middle of October a particularly slow time since the Epcot Food & Wine Festival will be in full swing. That being said, I don't believe you will notice a huge difference in the numbers of people waiting for buses.
