I know Florida weather can fluctuate, but can you COMFORTABLY go in the pool to relax late December? Or really too chilly out?

ETA: I know the pools are heated, but if we're going to "pool it" we want to be comfortable whether standing up or even hanging pool side after taking a dip.

I think it depends where you're from...but I think most people prefer temps in the 70s (with sun) to enjoy the pool. So it probably depends on what the weather is like when you're there.

I've been there around that time when it was beautiful and 70+ degrees. My friend has also been there when it was a miserable 50 degree spell.

As others have said, it could go either way. Average daytime high is probably low 70s... but it is much cooler in the morning and when the sun starts to go down. You might have days that are warmer, and you could easily also have days that are colder. Chances are over the course of a week you could find time to get to the pool when it will be tolerable, but for me personally late December is not typically swimming weather unless it is above average warmth. I like it to be a bit warmer for swimming. I've been to Disney in early December and in the first week of January and although I tried swimming once in January, it was way too cold out of the pool for me. The next trip I didn't even try in December because it wasn't quite warm enough outside and I knew I would have the same experience where I just wanted to put on a sweatshirt as soon as I got out of the water.

I thought so, but then while I was walking to the pool area in my swim gear, I was passing people wearing long pants and puffy jackets. I am from the Northern Plains region. But I'd say even 60s and sunny with no howling winds is fine for pool weather. If you're not comfortable being cool, I'd say no.

Maybe.
Maybe not.
There are times even if you want to swim, if it's cold enough Disney closes the pools. So the choice is removed. Heated water or not.
I've been there plenty of times when it didn't get out of the 40s in the daytime
Though, give it 24 hours, it's likely to be 70

If this is your requirement then the odds are against it. Especially if it's cloudy. Out of the pool and wet on a cloudy day at 70 is not comfortable. Wet on a sunny day at 70 is.

And, from personal experience, may I add that getting out of the pool and being wet at night when it's 70 or less is really not comfortable . . . although I do see people who don't seem to mind. And 40 degrees at night is just unbearable, even though the pool itself seems quite nice. Yeah, I did that once!

We are from Buffalo and it would most likely not be warm enough in December to swim for us. As mentioned, its a roll of the dice whether you'll have 80s, 70s, 60s, or even lower. It can vary wildly year to year. Last year we were there in late October, and 2-3 of the days out of our week were in the 70s and not warm enough for us. I think its doable for some, but not optimal or necessarily comfortable.

Yep. I've done that with temps in the 50's. Not fun.

Heck, takes no significant room to pack them. I'd bring them. You never know. Better to have them and not need them than to want them and not have them.

True, but if we pack them, DD is the kind that's like eh lets give it a shot and we all pay the price after. haha

My kids will swim mid day when it’s sunny in December, even if the day is coolish.
I will hit the hot tub every night, no matter what the temperature is. :)

My kids swam in early Jan, no problem. My grandkids do too- but NOT me usually. It can be very warm at Christmas time on occasion, but it can also be downright cold.
If kids want to, it's fine with me. I'll stay dry and enjoy watching.

The year I went from Christmas Eve until New Year's Day, the average temperature was 87 degrees. As long as the air temps are in the low 70's, you can comfortably swim in the heated pools. At Disneyland last April, we swam every day, and the highest temperature was 72.

I was there in 2015 and 2017 over Christmas and it was in the 80s most days with some days being towards the upper 80s. Definitely was pool weather. It honestly is just a roll of the dice. I have been there over Christmas when record highs and lows have hit.
