well considering how so in so many trip reports I have read over the years from Americans who visit Europe and expect things to be as they are in America and then come back here and complain about this and that, such basic things as the lack of air conditioning in European hotels, I would say she is just typical of an average American. If only there was a place American tourists could type in some words and look some stuff up

It really only takes one trip to learn ice isn't plentiful, hotel rooms are smaller, dinner is later and ac isn't comparable...

I didn’t watch the interview. The bolded comment from Meghan is almost unreal. Meghan is gonna to speak for Kate in this way????

But here is the thing. Don’t criticize M or her words publicly even if she decides to put words in your mouth unless you want to lose your job or whatever. Kate would not stoop that low anyway, but if we have learned anything, criticize M at your own risk.

Right?! I didn’t watch the interview either because I knew it’d make me mad, but, when I read that quote, it made me mad anyway.

I wonder if she is still miffed about not being able to spray her fragrance in the chapel in Windsor. We all know, what Meghan wants, Meghan gets!!!

There were likely other temper tantrums before and following the wedding. Tip of the iceberg.

From the beginning, they’ve both acted spoiled & entitled.

And there are quotes from them saying things like they wanted to be the “New Royals” & they would help modernize the Royal Family.

I think Meghan wanted to bring Hollywood to England & thought being a royal was akin to being a celebrity. And, then, when she realized that being a working royal came w/ a lot of obligations & traditions & protocols... and they weren’t going to let her completely change or ignore all those protocols, she decided she wanted out - so she started reinventing history & making up a new role for herself.

I’m just some middle class American in the south, & I think I knew more about the Royal Family & its protocols & could have acclimated better than Meghan.

I know there wouldn’t have been any stories about me being petulant over what tiara I was being loaned for my wedding or showing up in the wrong attire at Wimbledon.

I’ve had that same thought myself & even thought about asking here.

I was in a conversation w/ a younger woman just yesterday. She’s in her late 20s/early 30s, &, even though she thinks both Meghan & Harry are going about things the wrong way, she is much more sympathetic to Meghan than I am.

And she believes Meghan is telling the truth in the interview, whereas I don’t. At the very least, I think Meghan & Harry are twisting the truth & manipulating the narrative.

You may be right but honestly, I don’t think any of our three under 35 kids have any interest in the M&H saga, or entitled acting people in general with high expectations.

I think that the divide is more likely that of traditionalists/progressives. Maybe Southerners/Northerners in the U.S.? It may be somewhat age related in England, but I think that Black British folks do not feel the same about it as the whites there do, generally speaking, even if they are of advanced age. They can recognize for themselves the racism she described.

Quoting to highlight the bolded. Well you would have thought before dropping that level of a potential bombshell they would have discussed it before hand. Meghan is not naive enough to think she would say something like that to Oprah and it not have HUGE implications.

And no, I am not saying a husband needs to censure his wife, but these two should have sorted out things that were off limits ahead of time.

Oh, Meghan knew the implications, no question. I think *Harry* didn't realize what bombshell potential it had; it sounded to me that he thought it was just a "Can you believe Relative X actually thought that could still be a problem?" kind of conversation that you'd have in private with your spouse; something to shake your head over and then move on.

As to the timeline question, I'm guessing that the conversation with Relative X happened during their engagement, but Harry did not relate it to Meghan until later, when she was pregnant.

PS: About Meghan's supposed ignorance of protocol, that is absolutely hogwash. She would have had a protocol tutor assigned to her as soon as the engagement happened; it's standard at that level. The only way that she could have remained ignorant is if she refused to do her homework. I mean, come on, every American schoolchild is taught that My Country 'Tis of Thee is our thumb-to-the-nose re-wording of God Save the King (Queen); it's a standard grade school history lesson here. You might not know it's the official UK national anthem, but you sure as heck know the title. Meghan has a degree in international relations and once worked for the freaking STATE DEPARTMENT and she claims she had no clue she needed to concern herself with protocol when interacting with a Head of State? I've got a bridge in Brooklyn I can let you have cheap. I'm hearing rumors that Piers Morgan had to leave his show after Meghan filed a complaint.

Piers quit on his own terms, saying freedom of speech is the hill he’s willing to die on (paraphrasing).

But it was determined that Meghan had called the CEO of the network to complain about him (despite their once being acquaintances).

It will be interesting to watch the ratings now on GMB, as they’ve been up since he arrived there.

Lesson to be learned here, don’t turn you back on Meghan

well... kinda leaving out a small detail.... Megahn was not the only one calling for his ouster.... it was reported that over 40,000 complaints were lodged against Piers specifically for his comments ... and that is what led to his ouster. You can call it on his own terms... but only after he was essentially fired or told to apoligize.

1. I can appreciate that maybe she was ignorant and didn't know that "HR" wasn't the place to go when asking for mental health help.
2. She should have inquired about getting MEDICAL help because what she was going through is basically a medical problem.
3. Harry should have put on his big boy pants and stood up for his wife and demanded some assistance for her so she could be evaluated, maybe put on some pregnancy-safe anti-depressant medication, etc.
4. Harry basically standing on the sidelines and saying "But I didn't know what to do!" is a pathetic and unacceptable excuse. Dude...you're her HUSBAND. You need to HELP her when she's going through a crisis like this. YOU'VE BEEN A PART OF THE ROYAL FAMILY YOUR WHOLE LIFE! I keep thinking what a huge plus this could have been for race relations all over the world, if these two had been able to make it work. When they became engaged, I was super excited that there was an American duchess and one who could build so many bridges. As it has turned out, they weren't up to the task and I believe have fomented much disharmony among people.

Yea, I was thinking she might be at some risk during both this current pregnancy and postpartum. Maybe they can get a referral in their area?

I find it amazing that people support Piers Morgan in his feud with Meghan. People have the right to stop talking to whoever they want to for any reason. He is such a creep, she had every right to not want to associate with him. Nobody owes another person access to themselves.

If someone on this board posted about a person they knew making them feel weird and creepy, the advice would be cut them out. Why in the world does none of this apply to this person. The Meghan hate here goes well beyond sense.
