Is it okay to change a baby’s diaper at a table?

This is completely wrong. So Americans don't respect our children because we are ok with kids not being every where we go? My children are great when we go out and no we don't only go to McDonalds and never go to Chuckee Cheese. I respect my children but I am an adult and do enjoy my kid free time. Who are you to say we don't respect our children??? Wow

Wrong to you.

No all Americans but definitely the culture is different. It's the same in all of the Northern Europe countries.

It seems by the anti-kid comments on the DIS that Canada is a much more family friendly place. Our kids are welcome in all restaurants and treated with respect. We take our children everywhere as does everyone we know. When our kids scream or cry, we remove them from the premise. We don't think that our children only belong in Chuck E Cheese and McDonalds.

This is a blanket statement. You are saying thatwe don't respect out kids and only believe they belong in McDonalds and Chuckee Cheese. How is that not a blanket statement.

Here's a blanketed statement. Should we all keep children away from your presence? Sorry, children are everywhere.

No it was in response to the other poster. I go out to get away from my kids. You are the one that says Americans don't respect our children because we don't bring them everywhere we go. You also implied that we believe they only belong in McDonalds in Chuckee Cheese. So if you want to quote me use the quote that I used also.

I'm just disappointed that Starbucks apologized to this family in the story. What a horrible way to defend their employees.

In today's world I have noticed - each time I use the handicapped restroom, there is usually a changing table in the stall.

IMHO - I believe this started because the HC stall was the only one large enough to fit a changing table into.

I love coffee. If I was a young Mom - Why should I worry about not having a place to change my child? This is 2013!

Don't comb your hair at the table. Even more important - don't wipe your bottom (or anyone else's bottom) at the table! Ewwwwwwww! The thought of it! Ewwwwwwwww! :bitelip:

I agree.

And FYI LSmith, to say that everyone in Canada take their children everywhere they go, (and to insinuate that US folks dont), is highly inaccurate.

When you make a blanket comment like that about Americans it is rude.

I want to say that the PP is one of the Canadians that think that all Americans are fat also. Off to check out a thread on that........

So we are fat and hate kids. Sounds about right.

Do Starbucks locations generally have highchairs?

Our Starbuck's has both high chairs and changing tables but it's located less than a 1/2 mile from several suburban housing developments and gets a lot of kids coming through. It also has a bunch of kid friendly snacks and drinks as well. It's good business for ours to cater to kids.

On one knows what really happened because we're only getting 1 side of the story. The parents has many other options available to them besides the most offensive one. Actually, probably the most offensive one would have been to change the child on the coffee bar.

Ohh where is that located? She is a peach. If Americans are so bad why come here?

Yes, our Starbucks in Toronto love families. The one I frequent in the Beaches has lots of comfy chairs, sofas, a fireplace and, gasp, children's books for the kids to read while the parents relax with their drinks. They will often make free drinks for the toddlers. I'm willing to bet there are change tables in the washrooms as well.

Not everyone is raising little out of control hellions and if you are than 100% of the blame lies in the parents, not the kids.

Yes that is the Starbucks I was referring to! The one in the Beaches!

I said that we take our children everywhere we go and so does everyone we know.

Comprehend? Talk about putting words in my mouth.
