Is it OK to drink Wine out of a coffee mug?

When I was in college my heathen roommates drank coffee out my wine glasses because they were the only clean glasses/mugs in the house. Go for it.

Actually, the reason wine glasses exist as they do is because they supposedly affect the taste and smell.

But yeah, you can drink wine out of a mug.

Wow, that sounds sort of magical. I guess there's some scientific theory to back it up, but do you think the average wine drinker would notice?? Not that you're an average wine drinker.

Well, I did it, but it tasted awful. I had this bottle for about 2 years in the cabinet. It was Barefoot Merlot. I am used to Zinfandel I guess. I drank it at toom temperature, I usually like it chilled. As you can see, I am Wine Challenged!

Room temp is the way merlot should be served but if you are used to a zinfandel it was probably too dry for your taste. Or if it was stored improperly it could have turned to vinegar!
