Is it OK to drink Wine out of a coffee mug?

How much is it? I would most likely pay at the most, 10.99 for a bottle of kind of good wine. What about you all?:confused3
We usually go for the wines anywhere between $9.00 and $14.00. If it is a special occasion, we might spring for a $20.00 bottle...and use glasses of course!;)

We have beautiful crystal wine glasses I found at an estate sale for a great price, plus our Disney wine glasses, plus random wine glasses that used to be part of sets (wine glasses are always breaking, perhaps because they are being handled by people who are drinking alcohol?? )....

but my favorite "wine glasses" are tiny vintage juice glasses with seahorses on them that I bought on Ebay. They hold maybe 3 ounces, filled to the very top.

You can drink wine out of ANYTHING, trust me. ;)

Sav yourself the trouble of doing dishes and rink straight out of the bottle!

Noooooo! Never chill a red wine! :scared:

Some red wines that we have ordered at restaurants, came chilled. Lambrusco is an example.

You can, but I don't see the point. Coffee mugs are not designed to hold wine. There are different types of wine glasses for specific wines. These glasses help bring out the aroma, taste, flavor, etc., etc. The same goes for beer, and other types of beverages.

Yes. Each beer has its proper glass. And shouldn't be drunk from another kind of glass. Only the regular "pils" beer should be drunk out of the bottle (never a can :scared: ), all others should be served in "their" glass.
Can you tell I'm from "beer country"?

Rome, Italy. McDonald's has a bar and serves wine--cheaper than water, in fact. Why not here?:confused3 .........Just thought I would throw that one out here. It's true!

In about every Mediteranian (sp?) country, wine is cheaper than water! No wonder most Europeans like to vacation there! ;)

We have mickey wine glasses also!!! They are my favorite!! We also have some wine glasses that were my husband grandmothers. I try not to use them, because I am afraid they would break.

Well, honestly we are always trying new wines. My brother-in-law owns a wine store. Our old standbyes are Blackstone merlot(about $10) and Cartlidge and Browne cabernet ( about $12.00) both California wines. Oh Yeah...we also drink Beringer, which is probably also around $10.00.

Cheers!:goodvibes

Us too, but don't forget in NY the tax on alcohol is higher than in most states, so the other posters may get the same wine cheaper...of course we do get the 10% family discount thanks to your BIL!:thumbsup2
