Is it OK to drink Wine out of a coffee mug?

I actually really like Barefoot Merlot! I usually put a couple of ice cubes in my red wine.

The book that came with my wine refrigerator said red wine should be stored (and I assume consumed) at 55 degrees. Room temperature is around 70, so don't feel bad about wanting to have it a little cooler.

You have a wine refridgerator! Cool! Bet you have wineglasses too!:rotfl:

Here's a picture of me drinking wine at work :surfweb:

If you like it cooler than chill it, but don't put ice in it....that only dilutes it. You don't want to dilute wine.

Let's just say most times the ice is not totally melted by the time I finish the glass. :rotfl2: (And I like it that way!) ;)

Yeah, we do. It was a gift. Wine glasses were 12 for $6 at the grocery store.

And might I have a taste of what you are drinking at work? I have a Nalgene bottle you can put it in. I need something! :lmao:

I'm always willing to share my wine! It's Barefoot Merlot! I have about a zillion wineglasses, maybe I should have offered to send some to OP so she wouldn;t have to buy them!

Why not get zip lock bags and cut a small hole in the corner. Kinda like a poor man's bota bag. Only problem is once you cut the hole you are commited to finishing the contents.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I don't know what coffee mug/wine etiquette is......perhaps teacups for whites, full on mugs for reds, and espresso cups might to best for the bubbly stuff.;)

The baggy thing is how my sister used to sneak alcohol into places where they check you. She would stick it in her pants or tape it to herself somewhere under her clothes. :sad2:

The coffee mug works. The hand isn't warming the wine. Even better if the wine comes from a cardboard kegger...:)

Barefoot Merlot for everyone! I hereby decreee Barefoot Merlot in a Mug Day! If you really need a wine glass, see pixie dust 112. If you want ice, see mickeyboat. If you need to sneak your wine into the office via ziploc baggie, see olena's sister. :lmao:

You can, but I don't see the point. Coffee mugs are not designed to hold wine. There are different types of wine glasses for specific wines. These glasses help bring out the aroma, taste, flavor, etc., etc. The same goes for beer, and other types of beverages.

NOW I see this! I could have used some wine in my coffee mug at work today. (Although, since I work from home, I guess I could have drank it right out of the bottle, and nobody would have known:lmao: )

You mean you"ll never see Nsalz again, Right??? Actually, where is she??? I think she started to read this thread, then decided to get a glass of wine, and.....you know the rest!!!

As NSalz's sister, I recommend you just uncork the bottle and use a bendy straw!

:thumbsup2 My wine is ready (actually IS Barefoot Merlot:lmao: )

OK.....Here are the rules......

1. Yes to the Coffee mugs if you have no wine glasses. For instance, we were just at WDW and had no glasses, so YES, we used mugs and plastic cups. Hey when one needs their wine, one needs there wine.:confused3

2. I really prefer to go to someones house and drink out of a wine glass, not a paper cup. So when going to Wal Mart, buy more than one glass. Just sayin'.:snooty:

3. Yes, when having a wine question, always ask me first. :teeth:
4. Red should be room temp, white should be cooled.I prefer Merlot, or any red incase anyone wants to send me any!:flower3:

:confused3 Don't have ANY wine glasses.

Poohbear, I just wanted to let you no that I sing along to piped in music too!!! Much to my kids embarressment!! Thanks for starting the wine thread...I bet you didn't know what you started. This may go for awhile!!:goodvibes :rotfl:

Thanks Nsalz!:thumbsup2 Think I will go and pour me some wine now....;)

When you are drinking Barefoot Merlot and 2Buck Chuck, I don't think anyone is gonna care about whether it is in a mug or a dixiecup.

On another note, when I break out

There is a good chance the proper stemware will bein use.:rotfl2:

On another note

This served in dixie cups - exceptional - and it beats the IceWineserved at Le Cellier by a mile.:hippie:
