Is it necessary to get a FP for meeting Ariel in her Grotto?

I'm keep tweaking FP for our upcoming trip. I was able to snag an Anna and Elsa FP, but let go of our Ariel fast pass. Do you think we'll need an Ariel fast pass? I'm having a princess made into a mermaid at 9 am and we would like to go see Ariel directly after. I'm more than willing to wait 30-45 minutes. Do you think it will be longer, if so I may change another FP. Our travel dates are May 20-25, if that makes a difference. Thanks all!

I found your post helpful, but am curious if anyone knows on average the wait time to see Ariel mid morning...

We have met her several times in the morning before 9:45 with less than a 5 minute wait.

However, when we were there last week, with the high crowds, we walked by at 9:30 and her wait was 20 minutes (we thought the posted wait time might have been wrong so we walked into the cave- there were a lot of people). We opted not to meet her that time.

Thank you, that's very helpful. Her appointment is at 9, so I'm guessing we would get over there closer to 10. I think we'll try it without a fast pass, it shouldn't be too warm that time of the morning.
