I spend my winter ski trips surrounded by people in ski masks or with their faces otherwise obscured. Obviously people intent on criminal activity. I'm sure I'll feel right at home. :)

I thought the proper term was "ganstas." :)

Totally kidding -- I was chided once on using the "wrong" smilie, so I don't want any confusion.....

Welcome to all the newbies. I think that you'll find us regulars to be friendly, helpful people who (dress appropriately and) love to share what we know about the parks.

I am so grateful to have someplace to go for information. It's so much better to go into the parks with knowledge! I learned WDW on my own starting in 1991, so I feel like I can help on their boards but USF has changed so much since I was there in 1993 that it will be like going for the first time. Not to mention IOA! I wouldn't have known about FOTL passes staying at a US resort, or even about the resort for that matter. So thank you, thank you for giving time to help us. Maybe when we get back I can help too!

Welcome to all you Newbies!!! Hopefully you will become regulars around here once you've had your wonderful vacations and pass along your knowledge to the new newbies!!!

I was at the Disney end of the DIS until about this time last year....been true to US for at least a year now....reading, asking, learning....hoping to be able to help others like phantom, damo, flatline, and one other i can't recall username right now.... :confused3 . But, trying to earn my expertise and after we are there for 5 days (leaving next week :woohoo: ) I hope to be able to pass along wisdoms.........I believe there is going to be a poll as to which park we are going to like better ..... (I have it marked to bring up after our trip!)
So, welcome noobs.....read, learn and laugh!! :goodvibes

I am also new here. I started coming to this site and reading in January. I decided to join a few months later, and now I find myself actually posting. We really enjoy our trips to Universal and I am enjoying all of the information that I am learning from so many of the helpful people here at this site. I am sure it will help us have an even more enjoyable vacation this trip.

I thought it was funny on the other thread where you got accused as a flamer. :furious:

It’s not your imagination at all. Universal came up with a great marketing strategy/promotion this year. $99 w/Kids free and 3 extra days, all you can eat vouchers/wristbands, all you can drink, etc. No need to pay extra to hop, no need to stay onsite for these options. But if you do decide to stay onsite - hey you get free front of the line access. Can't beat that :confused3!!!

My question is.... Why aren't there more people over in Universal message boards? This is the first year that I wanted to afford to do BOTH Universal parks and Disney. This upcoming trip, I'll get the best of both worlds. I’ll spend 3 or 4 days at Universal and one day at MK and 1 day at MGM.

Welcome ALL!

And don't forget to hop on over to the resorts board (Universal of course) and put in your visit dates so we can add you to the list!

wadda plug! :rolleyes1 :teeth:

I even changed my signature to add HRH in our July/Aug. trip. I am very technically challenged, so this is a BIG deal to me!!! :badpc:

I am new to these boards but have been lurking since 2004. We were in WDW/USO/IOA two weeks ago. Since I was on the disboards everyday looking for information, I decided I may as join up so I could post too! :thumbsup2

There is a great group of people here always willing to answer every question. They certainly have helped our family beyond imagination in planning the perfect vacation.

And they all have a great sense of humor :goodvibes

I'm not new to this board!I have seen it change so much in the past few year's, that when i do look, i see very few name's that pop out at me,(Damo,Robiva,Phantom)We use to have a ball on this board but it really kinda died when a certain tall Asian person went and parked his van by a river.I really miss when we would all get together and actually have a meet,And where is motherfletcher? have not seen his post in a while,While it is true that i visit Orlando 3-4 times a year i hardly ever go in the summer month's(last summer visit July 2000)I will make a quick trip down there at the end of the month but you won't see me running the parks! It does not matter you will allway's have your Us/Ioa bashers, they too have to see for them self's where the magic lives! And my allmost 9 year old daughter feels the same way as the commerical if she see's another princess.....

was that a reference to my "wadda plug" post??? :rolleyes1

nope - to be honest, never even crossed my mind.

I was referring to the amusing and sensible way the experts handle the Universal bashing that often goes on here. The Universal people just know how to have fun and go with the flow.

I tend to neglect the US & IOA planning portion of my trip as it does seem easier to navigate & do 'blind' than Disney but I do lurk around here alot and have probably just been a lot more vocal in my opions recently!
