Is it my imagination, or are Sci Fi reviews improving lately?

I've noticed more favorable reviews lately and was wondering if anybody knows if anything has changed for the better. (Keeping my fingers crossed, as we have a ps for early September!) TIA!

Me too! I'm hoping for early January when we go-so please add your review next month. Thanks!

You are right, Sci-Fi used to get some pretty bad reviews. I don't know if the food is improving, or if people have caught on to the fact that the burgers/rings/shakes at Sci-Fi tend to hit the spot(it's also a nice place to go on a sunny hot day because the lights are low and it gives the restaurant a cool effect).:earsboy:

Just my 5 cents:
I think the bad reviews mostly related to a more ambitious dinner menu. But perhaps that has improved (?)

I don't recall many people ever complaining about the burgers/rings/shakes, except that burgers aren't on the dinner menu. I've heard you can still get them if you ask for them.

I agree that things seem to be looking up. Can't wait to try this place in October.

We've always enjoyed Sci-Fi, but we only order sandwiches and fries. The atmosphere can't be beat and we've always had great service with minimal wait times!

I've just always liked the atmosphere. The food has never been tremendous, but I've never thought it bad. I just like going there every now and then.

I had never eaten there because of all the bad reviews, but I was very curious to see what it was like all the same. So last September, I decided to bite the bullet and gave it a shot.

I was very pleasantly surprised. I stuck to simple lunch food, a burger, fries and a shake, and had a tasty lunch.

And the atmosphere was really cool! I think if you go with the right attitude you can have a fun meal. I'd go back for lunch any time.

Sorry to rain on the parade but my DH and I ate there about a month ago (after years of skipping it due to a bad meal) and we were bummed to find it had not improved a bit. The service was awful - our waiter was slow and virtually ignored us - and the food was very blah. My husband had the ribs which he said didn't have much meat, and I had the Vegetable Potato Bake which sounded very unique and yummy but was completely tasteless. I love the atmosphere too, but our waiter was so slow that we probably saw so many cycles of the same clips on the movie screen that we were going crazy! We couldn't wait to leave :-(

We loved the Sci-Fi! Been there 3 times and have never had a bad meal. I will say though that we've always stuck with the lunch menu. The prices on the dinner menu seemed way out of line for the kind of restaurant that it is (casual, family dining).

The atmosphere is terrific, and it's a great way to cool down in the dark after a hot afternoon in the sun...

Can't wait to go back in January! :)
