Ok soccer playoff's are going on right now in our area our town has I dont know about 15 maybe even 20 soccer field's and everynight for the past week they have been full. Well, this morning I ran out to the store and I see this mini van that has writing all over it's window's. Ok no big deal people do that cheering on their kid's and their team's. So I started to read the writing on this vans window's because it seemed like quite a bit of writing, it had on it "go Tracy#7 get out there and crush em! break some ankle's and toe's!" Then on the big back window it had a list that said "we are gonna git ya!" Then it went on to a list of team's that they have "inflicted injurie's on already and won." and it had a "Hit list" of the upcoming team's they are going to play. :confused3 Why would you be putting this on your car? What are you possibly teaching your kids by doing this? I dont know is it me? Or is this really screwed up? even if it was meant as a joke it seem's like a pretty twisted joke to me.:confused3

It seems like the parents may be fans of the "soprano's" and are just trying to start their next season since the show won't be on anymore.

But I agree, it is really tacky.

That is definately wrong. DS will probably start sports next year, and I am asking all over trying to find a league that will just let the kids have fun and learn a few skills. It's sad how hard it has been.
Once before we had kids DH and I were at a major league baseball game and the guy behind us was teaching his kid (5-7) to scream, "You suck!" whenever a player did something wrong. We just let it go, but if kids had been with us, I think I would have asked him to stop or asked an usher for another seat.

  Yeah, that's pretty messed up. :sad2:

At first, when you mentioned the breaking some ankles, I thought they were referring to doing it while faking out a defender (I've heard the term used in those terms), but hit lists and all that doesn't seem to indicate that's what they were going for.

I would not want to be friends with them, I can tell ya that much!

I agree I think it's very wrong.

You know I kind of thought that too, but the hit list's led me to believe that wasn't the case.:sad2:

Yeah, OP lives in New Jersey. You're probably right.

i would be tempted to take a photo of that van in the event of a serious injury during a game. that photo would go a long way in proving that the players were encouraged and had a history of poor sportsmanship.

i have to wonder how the sponsors of a team that would publicly post that kind of information would react if a photo of that van appeared in the local newspaper (where we lived it was a big thing to be a company sponsoring a kid's soccer team-and those bsns. did'nt want any negative press related to them).

To take it a step furtheer, having this alleged "hit list" on display may very well be a felony. If you REALLY want to see something interesting, try contacting the authorities.

Ha ha ha! Your both right! Us New Jerseyians are not known for beign the nicest people.:lmao: I grew up here and if we didnt have a family farm we are taking over we would have ran for the hill's!!:scared1: I dont even want to think what it is going to be like 10 or 20 year's from now.:sad2:

I was thinking this too. It clearly said "Hit list" School's go on lock down for writing like that. I also wondered about the other parent's and the coach dont they see this and wouldnt they say something? Or do they approve of it? I can hear it know "Oh, it's only a joke!"

This reminds me of the Buddy Ryan body bags comment. Both are a sad commentary of the person who wrote or said it. :sad2:

The rash of unsportsmanlike behavior is growing and encouraged by the parents, it is sad! Last night at my DS's baseball game one of our players got hit in the face by a hit ball and the other team and parents were cheering!!! It was disgusting. Not one parent seemed concerned and not one coach from their team went over and asked about our kid. They were cheering for their players to keep running and scoring as our kid was on the ground holding his face. as the kids scored they ran over to the bench and high five'd and jumped up and down. Now for the best part---these kids are 7 and 8 yrs old! it wasn't high school or even a traveling team it is a 7&8 yr old rec team. What a way to teach little kids to act. Our little guy was OK probably will have a shiner today but was OK with some ice.

Honestly, I'd take pictures of the van and mail/email them to the league offices and if they are community leagues to the mayor's office. That sort of garbage has no place in sports, especially not childrens' sports and if the league is approved by the city or county recreation department they are likely receiving funding from the city/county which should be pulled if the league allows such behavior to continue.

Your right it is getting out of control. My DS's want to play and participate but I dont like hearing all this garbage spewing out of other parent's mouth's. I thought the horse show world was bad but it is a walk in the park compared to kid's sport's!! My 5 year old DS and DH want him to do Pop Warner football:scared1: I dont know about it if soccer has hit list's and cheering for broken bone's what must football have????

My dd played hs soccer and playing at that level you just have to expect injuries, maybe even a couple serious ones, it's the nature of the game. But there was one game that was just over the top for violence from the other team. Even though I felt like the refs were allowing all kinds of violations to go on I do believe (not totally sure, it's been too many years now!) at least one of their players got red carded before it was all over.
Honestly, it's very scary to be the parent at those types of games and I'd be nervous for my kid going into a game if I saw that on the back of a parent's van from the other team.
