Um..No..It is part of the book. The whole Elder wand story was central to the book .Ollivander and Gregorovich were both wandmakers that appeared in the book .That whole scene at the beach house was straight out of the book
I don't know the books but i saw the last 2 movies with my obsessed kids. When i saw ollivander (in the beach house scene) giving his sales pitch about the wand choosing the person and describing the wood and unicorn composition, i felt my wallet magically becoming $80 lighter again. Thanks for clarifying.
Intersting enough, the official wands from ollivanders (from wwohp) are made in china....i guess that's Diagram Alley East
Okay....no. Those lines with Ollivander were pretty much RIGHT out of the book, which was written BEFORE WWOHP. So no, definitely not a sales pitch. And no kidding they're made in China, isn't everything? I mean it's not like they hand-craft them right there, there's so many! Diagon Alley, by the way. Not Diagram.
If you think your wallet felt lighter after those two movies it's a good thing you haven't read the first book or haven't watched the first movie. THAT is what Ollivander's in WWOHP is based on, the scene where Harry gets his first wand.
Hmmm, that's the whole focus of the last 2 books, 3 movies and the wands of Harry and Voldermort (and Dumbledore) in particular are central points. In fact wands are key throughout the series.
Oh well what can you do with 'Muggles' in the Wizarding World.
