Is it me, or does this girl look overdone?

The more and more I read this thread and look at the pic, the more I want to buy that outfit :)
Even the jacket is growing on me when I wasn't fond of it at first.

I think it's entirely sold out. :guilty:

Maybe this whole blow-up was actually started by some buyer at Disney, just trying to get some merchandise to move faster! :lmao:

That's exactly how my hair was when I was a kid. In fact, I can still get that volume when I tease it out. :thumbsup2 I think the skirt is a bit short unless there are leggings or tights worn under it (which I see there are). My 5 year old daughter has skirts that short, but she always wears dark tights under them. I don't really see a problem.

I think she looks adorable and makes me wish I still had a little girl to buy clothes for.

For those who made the hooker comments and think that picture is sexualized, I really do not see how you see that. It actually creeps me out that some of you are seeing that in this picture.

Lucky you! I'm one of the unfortunate ones who has pin straight hair. I'd like to have hair like that. In fact, I keep opening this thread just so I can get a look at her hair. Its fabulous! :thumbsup2

I have a 4 yr old and I buy clothes for her at childrens place once in a while. It is a good shop for basics like jeans and stuff. Like any store I like about half of the clothes there and the other half I can't stand. That goes for Gymboree as well (plus being so expensive!) The onluy problem I see with this picture is the makeup and the pose . If she was sans makeup and perhaps facing foreward in a more age appropriate pose, the ooutfit seems fine to me...and trust me I am VERY conservative when it comes to DDs clothes! I will not let her wear something with writing across the bottom, and as soon as shirts get too small so that her belly peeks out when she raises her arms..into storage they go. This skort is no shorter than the one i picked up in gymboree yesterday, or the shorts whe was wearing this summer...with heavy tights and as it has shorts underneath..i think it is just fine. The vest is a little too 1970's for me..but the rest is ok. I do think that society is pushing our girls to grow up too fast, and clothing stores, and the so called 'role models' in the media are encouraging our girls to dress 'sexy' and I find it disturbing. (I find it disturbing that my SIL and her mother will ooh and ahh and tell my neice she looks sexy when she puts on a new outfit..she is also 4...) The only thinbg you can do about it is say NO. I will not allow DD to have Bratz dolls or my scene dolls,(check some of the outfits on those!) I will be monitoring the choice of clothing music etc untill she is at least 18, and then hope I have instilled in her the self worth to dress in a way that is attractive and in style but lets people see HER not how sexy her clothes are!

and as for this little girls hair...I think her hair is beautiful and would have loved to have curls myself..I think the hair and makeup ppl did her a diservice teasing it SO big that it is the first thing you see..if it were about 1/2 the volume I don't think it would be nearly as shocking.

I agree. I see nothing sexualized about the outfit at all. I'm not to crazy about the jacket - it looks like muppet skin, but the rest of it is fine to me.
