...I will find someone to make a reservation for me for the Christmas/New Year 2008 season at the 11 month window? I mean, is it near impossible to get in then? We are not DVC owners, but have a party of 8 going down for two 40th birthday celebrations. We'd like a 2BR.

Anyway, I digress. Should I not plan on getting into a 2BR next year?

Start looking NOW for a DVC owner who will rent you a 2 bedroom at your preferred resort at the 11 month booking window. Since you will have 8, I'd suggest you find an OKW owner, since those are really the only 2 bedrooms large enough to comfortably house 8 guests.

It's always possible - especially if you are willing to offer a higher price per point. But it's going to be tricky. A 2BR that week is 405 points (at OKW for example). It's rare to see folks with 405 points to rent. If you can't find someone, you'll have to find multiple owners and get multiple reservations - which means twice the work on your end and you may have to switch rooms. You also need the people you rent from to be willing to call day-by-day.

As I said, it's always possible. Start looking well before the 11 month window. And good luck.

It's possible to "connect" reservations made under different contracts so you don't need to check out. My friends and I do it when we share a 2BR at BWV. Speaking of which, had had 8 people in that 2BR last year and it was pretty "cozy". Doable, but cozy.

You're right about calling day-by-day. It's a must, especially if you're looking to get a BWV standard view or boardwalk view.
