...is anyone else fed up with all these 'reality' type TV shows?

We have had BB, Celebrity Love Island , I'm a Celebrity, X Factor , Strictly Ballroom, Soapstar Superstar now we have one about Ice Dancing.....what next??

And are the 'celebs' really true celebrities - a lot of them I have never heard of and seem to be just faces who make the tabloids.

Good job I have SKY and a healthy DVD collection.

I like some of them - Big Brother, I'm a Celebrity and Strictly Come Dancing but don't watch any of the others. The vast majority of Celebrities who take part are hoping to restart their careers but, for me it's just a bit of light hearted entertainment to watch in the evenings.

I agree that there are peobably too many, but I must admit that I watch some, though not all, of them. I don't bother with BB etc any more as it goes on for too long and is SOOO boring, but the singing/dancing/skating shows, show a degree of commitment on the part of the "celebrity" and I find those quite enjoyable.

I like a few of them but the wife likes lots of them - they get the viewers so they are obviously popular and there are worse things to watch on TV. With so many channels to choose from these days it's easy enough to turn over so I'm not really bothered if they keep making these shows.

I do agree it is all about choice, and there are worse things on TV - I think the main things that annoy me are the length of time they are on for, especially Big Brother - it's on for weeks....and the so-called celebs who are clearly just in it for the money.
If they were 'real' celebs they would be busy doing something better perhaps?

Don't get me wrong - if you like them fair enough, I appreciate some can be addictive and I actually quite enjoy X Factor.

to me they are just a form of opiate for the masses.
What are people doing, sitting in front of their televisions, watching other people sitting around for? What on earth is the country coming to when the radio airwaves, the newspapers and many internet forums are filled with nonsense over if person A likes person B and "did you see them making a cup of coffee?"

I quite like BB although I will admit that by the end there is a certain sense of relief that it's over

I am not so keen on some of the more recent shows that have been on, a particular loathing of mine recently has been soapstar superstar. All these people have acting careers so why do we need to watch them singing and being judged in an x-factor style

I like some of the shows, I luuuvre BB (not celeb BB tho!), and the same goes for X Factor, the rest I will sometimes watch but it depends what else is on. I have to admit I think there have been too many now esp on ITV, X Factor finished followed by that Soapstar singing thing and now the Ice Skating one is on!!! It feels like a constant demand for us to spend our money on voting!!!

I confess to watching Strictly Ballroom when not doing anything else but that was nothing to do with celebrities and everything to do with the lovely dresses

The only one we have ever watched is American idol we usually enjoy that.

Only "Reality" show i have ever watched was the Contender.

Apart from that i absolutely hate this type of programming. The sooner things move on the better. (a la snooker)

I admit to watching the first 2 series of BB when it was new and we'd never seen anything like it. The contestants seemed slightly more "normal" then too, now they just seem to pick people who will spark off one another and cause lots of friction. I don't watch any of them now, I think their a waste of airtime. However, as has been pointed out, the world would be a very boring place if we all agreed with each other!
