Is it just me or.... (Grammy related)

Has anyone else ever heard of Norah Jones??? Everytime she won, DH and I looked at each other and had a blank look. Neither of us ever heard of her. Now... I am musically illiterate so that's no surprise but DH is quite knowledgable when it comes to music

Oh we know her...I'm surprised you've missed her. Seemed like we heard her everywhere and finally decided to buy the cd...just love it. Think she totally deserved to win!

I never heard of her or that song until last night. I asked about her on another thread, and from what I can figure out, she is a jazz artist??? I don't know, from what I heard last night, I was not impressed.

I was disappointed that Avril Lavigne won nothing and her song (skater boi)topped the charts all summer! Then she has had two more hit songs (complicated and I'm with you). I think she got ripped off.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I thought it was just me! Granted, I listen to mostly oldies and soft rock stations, but sometimes I will listen to the top40 stations, and I didn't know who she was either.

Now that she's won a grammy, maybe more people will hear of her.

Though most people know only her song "Don't Know Why" her album is full of goodies like a seductive jazz version of the Hank Williams classic "Cold, Cold, Heart" (and it works!)

Norah Jones got all kinds of airplay on Phila. radio stations, so that can't be the reason people near Philly never heard of her. I love her, and I got her CD for Christmas. She's got a beautiful voice, and she writes and plays her own music. Much more talented than Avril, IMHO. I enjoy Avril's music, too, but she's more teenybopper oriented.

I'm from the Philly area.

Granted most the time my radio is on 102.9 classic rock, the new oldie station 104.5 or the alternative station 100.3, so maybe that's why I haven't heard of her.

I hardly listen to the pop or top 100 stations, but I turn them on if I can't find a song I like. Maybe that's why I haven't heard of her??

Didn't Jesse Harris win the award for writing "Don't know why"? Absolutely beautiful song but I don't think that Norah Jones wrote it.
