Is it insane to plan a 12-day trip?

Our trip in a few days will be 12 nights long. I totally agree with the pp who said to go for it while it's easy to take your child out of school!! Our oldest is 5 and in preschool, he'll start K this fall. We're taking this 12 night trip, and then we're going back for 7 nights in December too! We bought Annual Passes. :):) We figure we'll get these two trips in while it's still not a big deal if he misses school. Once he starts 1st grade, we wouldn't want him to miss as much...

Go for it!!!!! ::yes::

The longer the better! We did 28 days last summer, 21 the summer before that. This year will be at least another 28 days. My DS will be turning 4 this summer and he loves every trip more than the last. I know it sounds like a LONG time to be at Disney, but it actually goes quite fast. The nice thing is that you don't have to rush and if you want to take a day or two away from the parks it's no big deal. I recommend it to anyone who can afford the time.
Sounds like us! We have done 30 days a year for the last 5 years. This will be the first year we are only doing 18.

Only in the nicest possible way! I wish I could be insane like that.

12 days sounds awesome.....plus as others have said..with a young child you need a longer time period....for the naps and just to take a slower pace!

I think 12 days could be too long if staying in a small hotel room, but since you're planning on a rental home...sounds like a good plan to me! Enjoy!

We stay at FW in our RV. Where does everyone stay who has posted on this thread? FW, timeshare, family?

ive been thinking about it for a few days now
we have reservations for 10days and I have another 3days vaca time so im thinking of leaving on sat now instead of thurs
we would do 5nights Sat-Th at Pop, 3nights Th-Sun at Wilderness Lodge and end at Beach Club Villas 6nights Sun-Sat
in the beginning have our park days, at the end spend more time at the resort

I should have guessed that I'd get unanimous support here. Thanks!

We have frequent flier miles that I'd like to use so that will allow us to spend the money saved on airfare on more Disney!

It's also long enough that everyone should be able to do what they want - ie, the guys will want to do Richard Petty, mom and I will want to SHOP, and of course, we certainly need some pool and jacuzzi time. And I won't feel stressed about taking part of the day to nap :teeth: .

Thanks again for the encouragement.

Now, we'll just have to pick some dates...oh yeah, and save a few dollars too. :earboy2:

I would definately do as many days as you can! :teeth:
We pulled all 4 of our kids(ages 6,8,15, and 18) out of school for 19 days(we drove down) and it was the best experience ever! :goodvibes
We did 10 days in Kissimmee and we enjoyed ourselves immensely-90% of our time devoted to WDW but we did see other things like Sea World, Medieval Times, Cocoa Beach. We went at a nice relaxed pace and no one got stressed at all! :cool1:
We would have stayed longer there was so much more to see and do!! ::MickeyMo

Twelve days is all wrong IF you cannot figure out how to stay even longer. LOL

Our longest trip was 16 days and it was a tad bit too long. I know, it is a terrible thing to say. If I were able to drive off site and so more things it might have been a bit better.

Fantasia, are you not the gal who was planning on moving to Florida and promised me a room? What happened? I was counting on it. LOL

We went for 11 nights for Christmas this year and could have stayed much longer. I know some will disagree but if I were you I would stay on site. We stayed at Pop in 2 adjoining rooms and there was soooo much to do. Plus you don't have to fight traffic, you get early entry which is crucial at MK.

No matter how long you stay, you never seem to find the time to do everything! Strange, isn't it?! The last few days are always a scramble to make sure we do this or that.

28 Days?!?!?!
Would you adopt me? :teeth:

Insane not to. ;)

Our first two tripw swith kids were about 7 or 8 days. The last two trips have been 10 and 14 days! I love it that way. We never run out of things to do -- actually, there's so much we still don't get to do, but we *do* get to take things at a nice leisurely pace!! Enjoy!!!
