...buy the APH directly from Universal's website to start with? We plan on getting one AP for the resort discount (already booked).

Thanks!

You can save a few buck by buying a discount ticket than upgrading but you're going to need to spend a little bit of time upgrading.

You can get a three-day ticket credit for the price of a two-day ticket credit ($10 difference) with tax included and find yourself with about $210, plus tax of credit toward that preferred pass if you go with UT's discount ticket ahead of time. Make sure you click the right radio button... they aren't very able to help you if you don't and it's your mistake.

Then you'll end up paying less in the difference at the guest relations window once you enter the park once. We spent about ten minutes doing it in October, and hubby agreed it was worth it.

I definitely want the power pass, but would also love to have the aaa dining discount. Is it possible to buy the tickets from aaa, upgrade to power pass at guest services and still have the voucher for the dining discount from the aaa tickets. We will not have a car to drive to the aaa south office to buy the power pass there. Thanks for any help!!! the tickets, AP, and upgrading are confusing and I want to choose the best option.

Just update on your last day before you leave the parks and your AAA dining discount won't be affected.

A little confused...I can buy a two day plus one day free (three-day pass) from a discount site (under 200.00 with tax). Can I do this and transfer to an AP before I check into PBH? We will have all our luggage from our cruise, so I want to be able to do so fairly easily because we want to get to the parks ASAP and leave our luggage at the hotel either checked snuggly into our room or in a holding cell until our room is ready. We are staying club level at PBH.

Yes. You buy the ticket from UT. They ship it to you. You bring it with you from your home to wherever, and snag it before you bid adieu to your luggage.

Once you go into the park once (YOU MUST ENTER THE PARK ONCE) on the ticket, go to Guest Relations inside the park and they will credit you the value of the three-day ticket AND the tax you would have paid on that full value of it at gate prices toward the price of the pass you wish to get and its tax. You will only pay the difference between the full gate value and the pass, and the tax on that difference.

I did it with hubby's pass on our last trip, and we paid a total of $26 for the entire transaction because he was getting a power pass. So easy. We went three days and he loved it.

If you wait until the last day to convert to an AP, does the 365 day clock start ticking on your AP then, or does it not start until your next visit (ie...first time you actually use it)?

Since you are upgrading a ticket to an Annual Pass, the first day you used the ticket is when the clock starts. But, you also get credit for all the money spent for those days also. For Example, I used my 4 day park hopper ticket on January 2nd 2015 to get into the park (a blackout date for the power pass). I upgraded to a power pass later. My power pass expires on January 2nd 2016. When I upgraded I was able to upgrade to the power pass for free because the gate price of a 4 day pass was the same as a power pass even though I had used days off of it.

I need to convert mine right away because we are using the APH discount for PBH. I think I need to do this before I check in OR can I check in and then show them the APH afterwards?

Yes, you need to show it before you check out.
