This April we are taking my Mom and Step Dad to Disney. My Mom always wanted to go to the HDR since I was a small child so I got us reservations. Has any one else gone? Is it worth the money. Also we are bringing DS age 11 will he enjoy it?
Thank you

We went to HDDR last June our first night. It is very funny :rotfl2: It's a professional show with lots of audiance participation, fun music and jokes. The food is good and plentiful. I would say it is worth the money. Lot's of people go to this show every year, but I think once in a while is good enough. My DD7 LOVED it so much it was her favorite part of the trip. Kids and adults alike rave about this show. You will definately enjoy it. It's a good choise and since it is her dream to go, a super way to show her your love  Disney style!

Have fune :cool1:

While it does seem like a LOT of money to pay, IMO its well worth it, and practically a bargain. The food is all you can eat, and you get unlimited soda, beer or sangria. To get that much food(salad, sides, meal and dessert) and drink, you would be paying close to that price anyway. A ticket to a separate show plus that meal would be more.
As for the food, while Ive seen mixed reviews, we love it. The chicken was the best Ive ever had. The show is hilarious. Well worth the cost for us. :)

I think your mom will love it. We just went for the first time last week and I was really impressed with how professional the show was--really top-notch entertainment. The food was good and the jokes are funny. All the kids in the audience seemed to be having a great time. I agree, do Hoop-de-doo. I wouldn't do it on every trip but for a special occasion, like bringing my mom to WDW, i would definitley do HDD.

thank you so much for your reply's. Have'nt been to Disney since I was 12 (38 now) and taking DH and DS for their first times in April. My DM lives in Florida and we havent seen each other in 8 years so I wanted to do something special and I remember her wanting to go to HDR when I was 12 but we coudnt get in. Again thanks for the info. This board is really helping to make this a trip to remember.

We did the show in 2003 and had a great time. We had 6 adults in our party and everyone loved the show & food. :flower:

Well worth the money. We went aug 03 12 of us in our party.
Had alot of fun. Great food.

HDDR is a great show, especially the first time you see it. I haven't gone in a while since I have seen it a number of times since it opened in the 70's, but as a child I remember it always being one of my favorite things to do at WDW. The price has kept me away in the past, but with Magic Your Way dining now, I would definitely use 2 sit down dinners to go to this. I will definitely take my kids there in a few years! It is a fantastic show for all ages. I have only done the luau at the Poly once, and I much prefer HDDR.

HDD is a GREAT show! We see it on every trip to Disneyworld and it has become tradition for us. It's a hilarious show with fun, corny jokes and the food is really tasty. The fried chicken is especially good. I'm sure your family will enjoy it very much! Have fun! :sunny:

The show is great - so much fun! The food and wine were not bad either. There are only 3 of us DD was 8; DH was 40, and I was 38. Everyone around us was having a super time. Ages of the people around us ranged from 80's - it was their 64th wedding anniv - to very small children.

We went last April for the first time and booked this Dec last August (it is one of the things on our must do list for the holiday trip).
