Is GF usually included in the discounts?

Yep, my trip is in less than two months and I'm already thinking ahead to next year's trip, lol.

DS 9 would love to stay at GF. I would like to surprise him with a couple of nights there before we check into AKV if I could maybe get a pin code or use a general public discount. Is the GF usually excluded from these discounts?

It usually is. Now, with the construction I would say fairly definately.
