Called AAA yesterday morning and booked my package knowing that I couldn't add free dining until Thursday. Then I got nervouse thinking that I might have to re-book Thursday to apply the FREE dining. Possibley losing my preffered resort. Called AAA again this morning, because I am nut:) , and they did verify with Disney that they will apply the dining to exisiting reservations.

Has anyone lost thier current ressie to get the Free dining? I have read this happening on other threads especially with the value resorts.

I wasn't booked at a value, but my TA just modified my CBR reservations and I didn't lose anything.

We are not staying at t value bu they also just added it on my existing reservation at Poly no problem.

sorry not trying to hijack this thread but is the price the same as disney or cheaper with aaa if you switch to the free dining plan.

thanks

I am not booking a value either but hearing the buzz about values being booked and a few having to re-book trying to add the free dining and not getting what they want.

I think I going to sit tight and see what Thursday brings trying to add the free dining. I don't have Disney Visa to add it right now so I am going to have to wait til Thursday.

When I found out about the free dining on Sunday I started doing the numbers. I priced out a standard room POFQ for 9 nights with 2 adults and 1 child including the park hopper. It came to $2066. Then I read on other threads that there was a pin code for September and people were getting 40% off room rates.

I thought if they offered this and dining through out September then maybe there were discounts at AAA. I called AAA early yesterday morning to get their rates, knowing that the dining was offered to Visa members and to the public on Thursday, rooms would book up fast. I booked the same package I priced out on the Disney website for $1805. Then I plan on calling in on Thursday and adding the dining.

I saved $261 booking through AAA. I had no intention of doing Disney until November 2008 and that was a long shot but of course the free dining and the discount through AAA made it affordable. I am staying 3 more nights longer than last year and still saved $500 over last years trip.

We already have our annual vacation planned for CA/Vegas in November but I just couldn't pass up this opportunity!

I love Disney!!:)

I have the 40% off booked at a value, and since you have to pay rack rate to get the free dining, it will be interesting to see if they can take off the 40% and just add dining or if I have to rebook. I will let you know Thursday!

Of course I am Music and want Movies so it may get changed anyway!

I don't want to take the wind out of your sails, but I also have my trip booked through AAA with a discount and I've been told by multiple sources that I will have to choose between the AAA discount or free dining - not both. You'll have to crunch the numbers and see which way works out better for you. For me it's $155.96 per day if paying for the DDP, so I think that beats the savings of the AAA discount.
