Hi, My DD (who's turning 9) and I will be there Feb. 4th-10th. Is this a busy time? I'm trying to do some planning with park hopping and dinners.

Thanks all you disers!!

We will be there at the same time! We picked that week because it is one of the slowest weeks at WDW. President's week is another story. I do know that during the slow times WDW schedules extra events at the Sports complex, and there will be many cheerleaders on property during your stay. This should not make much of a difference in park attendance, and I would only be concerned if you are staying at one of Disney's value resorts.:D

Take a look at our timers....We are arriving on the exact same day!

m.pots - I was at Disney World this past Feb 7-10. It was wonderful (a little chillier than I've ever done Disney before - around the 50's the entire time :earseek: ). No lines for rides I think we waited for Space Mountain the longest and that was about 20 minutes. No problems with PS's either.

The only thing is that the parks close earlier, so it leaves you with DTD or Pleasure Island if you want to get out after dinner.

The cheerleaders were there the same time, and we really didn't encounter them much - just one day at MK. Then again, we stayed at WL, so we didn't see them at the resort.

Have a wonderful time for your DDs birthday.

Colette

This is the time we normally go every year. It's great!! The weather is usually cooler in the evenings, so prepare for it if you'll be in the parks all day. We usually wear shorts but bring sweatshirts and jackets to put on in the evening. But it's not crowded, alot of the fast pass machines are closed down because they aren't needed. The closest we've ever stayed in the parks to President's Day weekend was the Friday before. It wasn't awful, but it was definitely picking up. But you should have no problem at all with the dates you've got planned.

Wow! What a great thread!!

We arrive at the parks on Sunday Feb 8th, and will stay at the Poly until Thursday, Feb 12th. I was worried that we would be to close to President's Day and would hit big crowds. However, that does not seem to be the case.

MPots and Mich Mouse, are either of you staying at the Poly? Its DH, DS 6 and myself. Let me know!

I was there two years ago during that week and the crowds were practically nonexistent. It's a great time to tour WDW.

:Pinkbounc We will be at the Poly from 2/8/04 - 2/14/04. It will be myself, DH, and DD. She is 6. This will be our 1st trip to Disney. It is for DD birthday. She turns 7 on 2/17/04. We are sooooo excited. I hope to be able to get in the Tahiti building (lagoon view). Maybe we will see you there.:earsboy:

Jenni20, you will love the Poly. We have only stayed there once but loved it so much we wanted to repeat the visit this time. We will head out to the port and get on the Disney Wonder on Thursday, but it would be awsome if our kids hooked up on the Poly beach. The parks close a little earlier in Feb (?6:00) so we hung out at the beach until the fireworks. It was a great time.

I will send you a private message later. Maybe we could exchange pics of the kids???

We are actually looking at going(booked CR) that time frame for DD's 9th b'day also:p ! We would be there a little before her actual b'day, but wanted to avoid the crowds the next weekend.
She said she wanted to do this instead of a party! princess: Our Seasonal Passes have become a dangerous thing ;) !
I just wish they would offer that Princess Tea at the GF during that time::yes::

Is there anyway I can find out when the cheerleaders will be there? We have a trip planned from Feb 1-6, we are staying at the Pop Century, but I really want a Moderate, if AP rates come out I will upgrade. But if you think it will be really crowded and loud at the hotel I may go ahead and switch now.

Thanks for any help!
Kim

I haven't actually booked yet. Looking at doing Pop Century. DD is excited it is opening but would love to stay at CBR (its our favorite). Do any of you know anything extra special to ask for or do for my DD birthday?

That is so cool you all will be there!!!
Steph.

We were there 2/7-2/14 of this year. The weather was definetly cooler. Couldn't really swim, even w/ the heated pool water. But the crowds were low, and the waits were almost non-existent. It felt like we had most parks to ourselves. I personally thought the weather was great for park touring. We weren't cold (capris, tee's and light sweathshirts for a better part of the day). You didn't get the run you down quick heat either. It was nice.

I was there on Feb. 4th (my b'day) this year and it wasn't crowded at all. I remember we were able to ride Rock N Rollercoaster 7 times in a row one morning with no wait. we did fine wearing jeans & sweatshirts and I believe we wore t-shirts a couple of days that week. IMO, it's the perfect time to visit. we also went to Bush gardens that week and it was practically empty. Linda

So good to hear so many good reports! ::yes:: We will be at WL 2/8-2/12 as well. My youngest DS will be celebrating his 8th birthday (his actually birthday is the 15th, but we were too chicken to stay and fight the Pres. Weekend crowds  )

I can't wait celebrate...::MickeyMo Disney Style::MinnieMo

HI EVERYONE,

I AM GLAD TO HEAR ALL THE GOOD REPORTS ON VISITING IN FEB. I AM GOING FEB. 2ND TO THE 9TH STAYING AT CBR.
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE CHEERLEADERS AT STAYING THERE OR JUST THE VALUE RESORTS.

THANKS

LAH

Go the first week in Feb, not the second. The cheerleaders and sports teams crowd the resorts and the parks. Also, make sure you don't go during Mardi Gras - I'm not sure when it is in 2004, but I have never seen the park more crowded than in 2002 when we went to Disney the week of February 8. However, our friends went the week before and had a great time. They go the first week in Feb. every year. Stay away from the All Stars if you can at this time. All the cheerleaders stay there. Hope this helps.

STONE CREEK BOYS,

YES YOU HELPED A GREAT DEAL. WE ARE GOING THE FIRST WEEK IN FEB. AND I CHANGED OUR RES. FROM ALL STAR MOVIES TO CBR.

THANKS!!!!

Ktyler,

I tried to get info on the "cheerelader resorts" from Disney, but did not get the information I was looking for. I was originally staying at the Pop Century, but changed my ressies because I thought of its proximity to the Wide World of Sports.....Try to find out where they are staying...I did not want to take a chance on listening to cheers and chants on my vacation....I get enough of that at home since my daughter cheers and I am the "team mom".

Good Luck!! :D

Michmouse, thanks for the reply. I don't think I want to hear cheering all night either! I am just looking for an excuse to upgrade to the Moderate resorts. I really wanted to stay there, but I kept thinking, its $200 more, but I think I will go ahead and do it.

Thanks
Kim
