Is everyone dressed up as princesses?

This is our first trip to Disney and to the character meals. We were able to get ADR for the princess dinners (not the one at the MK). Just wondering if all the little girls are dressed up in their princesses outfits? Would my little girls be the only ones not dressed up?

Thanks!

There will be some dressed up but not all - I think there is always a good mix.

And there are some that will put the dress on over their park clothes just for pictures and take it back off.

You will find that there are many little girls dressed up as princesses, but there are also a lot who are not in our experience. If your girls have something they wish to dress up in, by all means do not discourage it. But, if they don't have costumes or something to dress up in, they will not be out of place (from an adult's point of view--you never know how kids will react) in that there will be many girls who are not dressed up.

If you're talking about the one in Norway in Epcot, we just did that one too about 2 weeks ago. I don't remember seeing any girls dressed up! Of course, I was busy trying to keep my little ones from running and throwing their arms around Belle, but at least in our area of the restaurant, I saw no costumes at all.

We just went last week and DD only wore a princess t-shirt and jean shorts with princess on them. The table next to us had one girl dressed and the other did not. :)

It was 105 degree heat index when we went to CRT in June. I have to say, I felt really sorry for all the little girls wearing polyester princess dresses. It was just too hot. But there was, indeed, a mix of those dressed like princesses and those who were not.

In my experience you're more likely to see girls dress up for the CRT meals. The other princess meals do not seem to have as many dressed up. There is always a healthy mix so if you don't want to dress up then don't feel any pressure to though. :thumbsup2

Enjoy!

No they are not, my nieces didnt dress up for any character meals that we did on the two trips we took them on.

In fact I think there are less kids dressed in costume than you would think

Are you going to 1900 PF? In our experience, that had the least girls in costume but at any of the princess meals there are girls in costume and girls not in costume. Your dd will be fine either way:goodvibes.

We had our DD2 wear a dress (belle) over her clothes for the meal (@Norway, took her pants off tho) but then changed out of it afterwards. On a cooler day we let her wear the dress around the parks. This can be fun because a lot of the male CM's will bow to her when she walks by, its really cute! You won't feel weird at all having her all dressed up!

The last time we were at Disney my friend took her then 3 yr old to a princess meal and did not dress her. Everyone's correct there is a mix of dressed or not dressed. I think it comes down to the child. If you do not dress your daughter, will she feel bad that other kids are dressed and she is not. Her daughter felt very bad and moped much of the meal. Asking over and over why other girls got to wear pretty dresses and she did not. It was NOT a good scene. From here on out I will always dress my daughter but bring a change of clothes for the park. Anther bonus of dressing the girls is that they get a lot of attention from cast members and other people.

Ditto that. We were there in June and I thought the same thing. We are doing CRT in December so I can dress dd up as Belle and not worry about her getting too hot :)

To the op- we did the Cinderella's Happily Ever After dinner at 1900 Park Fare and I did not dress up my daughter, and it was a nice mix of some girls dressed up and some not.

we have been to the Princess breakfast on two separate occassions, both in the summer months. There were a few girls dressed up in their princess dresses but most girls were not. I think it is just too hot to dress up. Have a great time and enjoy the meal!

My DD is not very into dressing up. So, she doesn't wear Princess dresses in the parks. She did on her very first trip to BBB (and then dinner at 1900 Park Fare). But, she wouldn't dress up the next day for lunch at Askershus. And she didn't dress up at all on our last trip (not for the BBB, CRT or 1900 Park Fare).
