Is Electric Light parade returning?

But DCA has a bigger problem now. WoC. Not the show, all the people waiting for it. Because they stand on the parade route waiting to go into Paradise Park. 4,000 people standing mostly right on the parade route.

I'd love to see a night parade in DCA, but I just don't think it is practical anymore because of how WoC works. I'd gladly take it in DL too. But there is nothing but made up rumors that it will return.

Yep, they would have to change the WOC queue. But maybe by next year the WOC FPs will be gone or there will be a different system altogether.

I think you were thinking that because they kept announcing that Disney's Electrical Parade wouldn't be returning so there were theories that they would return it to DL and it would go back to being called the Main Street Electrical Parade.

Totally agree!!! I did not even know it was ever at DCA!! My favorite parade down Main Street as a kid! I don't even remember all the other parades, but remember that one!

You are so right!!!! It is the only parade I remembered from the 80s when we there...It was so good to see it in 2004 and 2006 and missed it last year... But it will be just as hard to run at DL what with the fireworks and Fantasmic timing... main St is already a madhouse at this time... I am wondering if maybe they might be making a new parade route out from Carsland....Hence why 2012 and not this year...

I remember reading that Anaheim was very strict when they loaned the parade to WDW. There was language in there about proper upkeep of the floats and so forth and it was apparently very specific that it was only for a couple of years. While this does not mean that things won't change, I think that Anaheim very much wants to bring the parade back. While World of Color will be popular for a long time to come, the sheer volume of the crowds will quiet down at some point.

Well Maybe WoC will slow down. Of course DCA has seen and is most likely going to have a huge uptick in visits. I think it's likely that WoC will get more shows in the future.

DLR may be ripe for more offseason events, to erase the offseason. WDW has nearly been able to do it. Things like special events work, so maybe when Food and Wine returns to DCA they could run MSELP in DL to get people there for two days.

Didn't they used to have a day time parade and then the electric parade at night? Also, parades come and go and I don't think Soundsational would be any different. Maybe last a year or two?

The only parades I've liked so far have been the Pixar parades in DCA and the EP (or MSEP).

It was always "loaned" to WDW it still belongs to DLR.. I firmly believe (I have to) that it will return and I hope it will. I this rumor too...then I can stop crying everytime I hear the music... this was my favorite parade EVER anywhere bar none and I so miss it!

I think PinkBudgie is right, I don't remember since I was really young when it was at Disneyland, but I remember seeing one in the early afternoon with a lot of dancing, then the Electric one at night. I was reallly surprised to see it at DCA when it was there.

When I went for the first time with my family in 1996, there was a day time Lion King parade as well as the MSEP and also Fantasmic! And a fireworks show, so I dont see the Soundsational Parade being an excuse not to bring it back to Main Street. I so hope they do!

We have that VHS too! It's around here somewhere but I'm not sure where our VHS machine is these days. I'd love to see it again, we'll have to go dig it up sometime.

Yeah, I remember the Lion King parade, and the Main St. Electrical Parade, that was the best! I got to see the Electrical Parade in '08 at California Adventure, I love the music. Hope it makes a comeback, it is nostalgic and would be a shame to lose it for good at DL/CA

I just wanted to point out that you found a thread that is close to a year and a half old.

I, too, dearly hope that some day the ELP returns to Disneyland, but for now, it is still at WDW.

SQUEAL!!!! I am REALLY hoping this rumor comes true! This parade has been my favorite since I was just a little kid! Whenever I hear the soundtrack, I still get goosebumps and a little teary-eyed. This was my absolute favorite Disneyland experience as a child! I so want to see it again and have MY kids experience the magic that is the DEP!!
