Is Early Entry necessary for Express Pass Rides?

I've heard you should go straight to rides like "Despicable Me" during EE if you want minimal wait time. If you have an Express Pass, is that necessary for those particular rides or can you mosey to those rides later? How long is the Express line wait time on these popular rides if you go late?

I know there are some that are not included in the EP, I'm just asking about those that are.

When we went last November we did not rush to any of the express pass rides and never waited more than a few minutes for any of them. During EE, we rushed to the Harry Potter rides. Hope this helps:)

Yes thanks! Definitely going to the HP stuff that don't have EP first for EE.

BUT I failed to mention that we will be there the week after 4th of July next summer! How much of an impact will that time period have on Express Pass rides if you don't rush straight to them?

Despicable me is one of those rides that seems to generate waits all day. With express I still waited 20 mins..THAT said..Nothing is open during early entry other than Gringotts, Ollivanders, the stores and Despicable me..Nothing else is open. Now 4th of July next year may or may not also have Hogsmeade at IOA open for early entry, but that is not the case right now.
