Is Earl of Sandwich in DTD still open?

The food truck near the former ESPN building is open.

Has EOS said that they were jerked around or is that fan speculation? My understanding is that they revised their plans for the new location which caused a significant delay. If so, that was their choice and they knew the repercussions of that choice.

Well, previously Disney had booted them for that new hotel development that never happened. At that time, there was no guarantee that they would return. Then they came back for a while until the new development took shape. Then they were to be out again, until La Brea closed and they took that spot, with Porto's kind of up in the air. Now they are giving the prime spot to Porto's, and Earl is again homeless. I mean, I am sure the relationship is amicable and all, but considering Earl's popularity, Disney should be finding them a spot - a good spot. They've earned it. I am sure the new spot will be really nice too - I am looking forward to it! It still feels like they are always getting bounced around though.

I kinda wish Portos was going where the new permanent Earl is going and that Earl stayed in the location that just closed. We loved having Earl so close. We would pop out and each lunch and grab a Starbucks and go back into the park. I know we can ride the monorail for the new location but it’s just not as convenient imo. Minor issue, I know. I’m just glad Earl is staying as it’s a favorite in our family.

From the restaurant's perspective, I think they would prefer to be closer to the hotels. I never expected the (fake) grassy area near Din Tai Fung to be so busy, but it is. I think the new location will be great for EOS.
