Is DVC WDW different from DVC DL?

I mean, other than being in different states, obviously.

I checked out the points required for a stay at the DL resorts and the points are significantly higher than point useage at WDW. Ex: 11 points value season at WDW vs. 17 points value season at DL.

So my question is, if I bought DVC at DL and wanted to use the points at WDW would I still use the usual points charts for SSR, OKW etc, and (although I don't know if anyone here will know this) is there a different point chart for points bought at DL for use at DL resorts?

The points you see for DL are for hotel rooms, which are higher points. The same is true for using points at Disney hotels in FLA that are not DVC units, ex. Grand Floridian. There is no DVC open yet at DL, but the points for the DVC, once it opens, should be more in line with the FLA DVC resort points. The same point charts are used by all DVC members, no matter where they bought their membership. So, yes, you would use the usual point charts for SSR, OKW etc.

DVC is DVC is DVC no matter if it is in FL, CA or NC.

I'm curious/anxious to see the point chart for GCV. There are so few villas that I wonder if it will impact the amount of points.

anyone know when the chart will come out?

Absolutely! The big consideration for the OP is this: Choose your home resort location (DL or WDW) very carefully as their 11-month booking windows will be really important. The GCV coming to DL will be the smallest DVC resort to-date and it may be difficult to get into on the 7-month windows.

I think you meant to say SC, not NC.

I suppose we could also include the future HI, assuming that isn't cancelled for some reason.

Oops. You got it correctly. And then when they decide to add a DVC at Las Vegas, Cabo and Lake Tahoe (from the survey I just took online) add Mexico and NV.
