Is Disney Quest worth it?

DH and I are planning a 10th anniversary trip in January (adults only this time!) and were thinking about going to Disney Quest. DH is a huge gamer so I thought it would be right up his alley. Just wondered ... is the $40 admission a straight fee that includes everything on all 5 floors, or are there hidden costs? Do you have to pay extra for some things?

We had a quickie visit (our first) this past September. My 8yo is big into games, so I thought it would be a mecca for him. Turned out his 10yo brother and I had a complete and total blast, while he was lukewarm on it. I was floored about that! He may have just been in a funky mood, though.

Everything we did was free, but I think there are a few things you pay for -- like if you compose your own music and want to buy the CD to take home.

Like I said, it was our first visit, and 2/3 of us enjoyed it a ton. I think your DH would like it a lot; there's plenty of variety.

I don't remember any hidden fees, but went years ago with threee adults, and we all loved it! I'm not even much of a gamer (DH and my brother were at the time) but I had fun too. I remember designing our own roller coasters and doing an art lesson - learned to draw Pluto.

We went years ago as well, and we loved it. There are tons of games and the admission price included all 5 floors. Don't recall hidden fees but I think the other poster is right, there are some souvies like CD's that you can purchase if you'd like. The design your own and ride roller coaster was an absolute blast!

I am horrified by the door price actually- we've been there a few times with a package ticket, and it's NOT worth the $$$ IMHO. My son is a big gamer, and he'll play for a couple of hours before asking to leave. Most of the games are lame, and older- playing the Wii at home is more entertaining- the roller coaster maker is the only thing the kids enjoy, and that wears out fast.
I suggest going only if it's an extra already on your ticket, but again, just my opinion.

I think the WPFM add-on is only $45 per ticket. So for $5 more per person, you'd get one credit towards Disney Quest (or a Water Park-- probably not too useful in January) per day of your MYW ticket. I may not have all the details right, so someone correct me if I wrong, but it seems like it's a good idea to pay the extra $5 to have admission for several days. --Katie

one more question ... is the admission fee something you pay at the door, or something that needs to be obtained ahead of time. We are going for a short trip this time - 5 days, and the first being more of a half day because our flight comes in at 12:30 pm. That's why we thought we'd do DD that first day and one park each of the other days. I was hoping to save some cash by not adding park hoppers or the water park admission.

We went there in March and our family liked it. We spent a good part of the day there. It was dh, myself, ds11, dd9 and dd17mo. It is a pain if you have a LO. You cannot take in strollers and not much for them to do. Luckily our LO is pretty easy going and we found a huge cushion seat area that she ended up napping on for a good 1-2 hours.

Anyways, we have the option added on our passes, I cant say Ide want to drop the $40 at the door, but it is pretty cool. Lots of variety, tons of games, nothing really costs except they have a few crane type games there, the CDs of you create own music, picture, or video of the rollercoaster creator. I think we might go back this trip, just depends on what else is going on on our days we arent going to the parks.
